: Barrel cleaning question...
: tjk August 21, 2008, 01:38:55 PM
OK, we've all heard about cleaning pellets not being too "cool" to use in springers because of the close resemblance to 'dry-fireing',....but here's a real original idea/thought,..yeah right!!!...what if you were to put a a cleaning pellet in the breach, followed by something like a flat-head wad-cutter behind it?!?!?! Would that clean the barrel without the fear of damaging the action???? Ibelieve the extra leading should be cleanned/smoothed off, but don't want to remove all the leading/natural lubricant from the barrel.Usually I just pull a dry patch though the barrel with weed eater line, but this new method would seem to get a more uniform "polishing" of the barrel to me. Any toughts or comments?!?!?!? tjk

Cleaning "pell" in front of a lead pellet??  Most likely the same as shooting SUPER HEAVY pells.?? Lots of resistance there Thomas. NOT a good thing. I just push cleaning pells thru with a  rod. Of course,, no prob shooting them with your "Bennys"!!LOL!! Your not gonna get me on this "trick question" Thomas,, He He!! Tim.
