I recently got a new walther falcon hunter in .25. I had the gun sent directly to Rich in Mich for a tune so I don't know how it would have done totally stock, bet here's some numbers: (Note that these are very preliminary results) All 10 shot strings:
Straight out of the box fresh from tune using webley mosquitos: High-820, Low-734, Avg-763, ES-86, SD-29 (some dieseling)
Webley mosquitos after about 300 break in shots: H-779, L-755, Avg-766, ES-24, SD-9
Now here's where it gets interesting...I used Beeman FTS for this test...they're about the same, if not the same pellet as the webley mosquitos. (I only have one tin of the mosquitos left and don't want to use them all up) On these pellets I flared the skirt with a beeman pellet seat tool: H-798, L-782, AVG-790, ES-16, SD-5!!! I tried about 5 shots with the FTS pellets and got some big velocity deviations one shot in the 600's, so I got the idea to flare the skirts and then try them. Look at the results! Much tighter variance and much better velocity's. I then figured I'd weigh some of the FTS's to see how heavy they are and they averaged around 20 gr.! Note: I should have and will in future tests weigh them first. If I recall that batch of mosquitos that I have weighed around 19.3 gr. So FTS at 20 gr. going 790 fps = 27.7 fpe!!!
