: What scale to use in refilling 88g AS cartridges?
: Curioguy September 03, 2008, 01:29:05 AM

I just purchased adapters from B&A to refill these cartridges; in addition, I would like to know what type of scale can be used in the process. I have seen numerous small digital scales on ebay that run in the $20 to $30 range and I was also considering a digital fish scale sold at Wal Mart for $20. Will any of these serve my purpose?

Gary, depending on the sensitivity, of the digital fish scale it will work. You didn't by chance get an extra refill adapter did you.

Oops, sorry Mike.(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-embarassed.gif) I will be ordering more stuff in the near future so I’ll make sure to add another adapter to the list.

No problem Gary. I don't have the QB anymore, I let someone talk me out of it(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cry.gif), so I would just need it for the MA2250xt. I received my scuba clamp today, for the disco, so I'll just shoot it for awhile.(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif)

To answer my own question and for those of you thinking of refilling these cans I suggest buying a $30 digital kitchen scale sold at Wal-Mart. It is user friendly, reasonably accurate and not as awkward to use as a fish scale. It also weighs in ounces and grams. If you do a search on the RWS 850 Resource Forum you will get the necessary information needed to refill these cans. Best to be safe by exploring all sources of information.(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif)

Thanks for the help! Nice website, alot of accessories!
So I guess once you put that adapter on the bottle it stays there and it screws directly into the gun with it, right?

Yes, that’s right and that is why I ordered an extra adapter with the purpose of always having a full 88g crtg. available.

In addition here is a link that I found informative:

Thank you very much Gary! You've helped me alot. I just have ordered QB79 from Mr. Archer and waiting on it to arrive. These AS cans are actually pretty expensive if you shoot a lot and it is nice that there is a way to refill them. Thank you for the help guys!

Anatoliy, I'm happy to have helped because that’s why we are here. Keep in mind that there could be risks involved in refilling but if you practices good safe procedures it can be rewarding. I used to reload cartridges for my powder burners and did a fair amount of experimenting with different loads; however, I always put safety first.

Enjoy your QB79; for the money, they are great little shooters, I’m glad Mike (Splash) let me talk him out the one he had.(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif)

In addition, you may want to get an on/off valve to aid in the filling process. Although the B&A adapter has a pin valve included I found by using the on/off valve I don’t dump any C02 when removing the AS can. I bought two on e-bay but you can probably get them at a paintball shop or an online PB equipment supplier.

This is my setup:

Thank you, I actually ordered on/off valve from Mr. Archer together with the QB79.
