It was a long night. I stayed-up til 4:00am this morning sippin' Guinness and enjoying some quality time with my beautiful girlfriend. We haven't pulled a late one in quite a while. It's nice to act like teenagers sometimes! I rolled outa bed about 10:30 or so, under-slept, slightly groggy and naturally I headed for the can. So I'm observing the morning waterfall trying to get some eye focus when this nutter comes into my blurry view out the bathroom window. I'm not awake by any stretch, my head hurts a little and I just about tripped on my jammie-bottoms heading for the gun rack. I ditched the jammie bottoms, grabbed the Hunter Elite(wearing nothing but a t-shirt) and just about knocked myself out opening the front door!
By the time I got around the side of the house he'd already headed up the pecan tree and had jumped into the pine. Our pine tree is quite tall and well-branched and I often lose em' if they're in that tree. My better vision still hasn't come back yet and I can't see a damn thing out the scope. I wiped my blurry eyes and looked-up again trying to find the little bugger. I couldn't see him anywhere and I was getting leary of the neighbors across the street getting in their car and all I've got on is a t-shirt. &%$#$%&)(^!!!
I ducked around the back side of the pine tree(out of the neighbors eyeshot) and continued my blurry gaze into the pine tree. He flipped his tail a couple times giving away his location... my eyes decided to work this time and I got him in the crosshairs... "PHUT" ...and down he fell!
I'm not one to normally expose the frailties of a friday night bash and subsequent morning aftermath but I was thinkin' you might get kick out of this mornings episode! Enjoy!

That's pretty funny. I enjoed that story. You want that nutter so badly you are willing to go out naked to shoot it! :-)
I have done something similar with crows. I ran out with shorts & a T-shirt right out of bed to stalk & shoot some crows (they woke me up at 5:45am every morning w/their noise in the winter), and then realized it was 15-20deg out and I was freezing my b**s off! I went back in a few secs. later to avoid hypothermia :-)

Funny story. My hat's off to ya......with a brain full of alcohol and only 6 hr. sleep, you can still see and nail that nutter.

I really wasn't romanticizing friday nights bad behavior but was rather amused at the circumstances surrounding the kill. No two kills are the same. It is under the oddest of circumstances tat we get the most entertaining stories!

Tim, I could've just as easily gotten him through the bathroom window... I mean he was at parallel height with my shoulders on the branch outside. I asked my beautiful girlfriend if she'd mind my perforating a small hole(.177) in the bathrrom screen and she shot down my inquiry almost immediately. It was then that I knew I had little time to get the Elite and get out there to git him! Jammies or not... I was determined!
