Occupy your mind with something other than S410 walnut. Really beautiful rifle though. The days will get longer.  I'am glad I live close to AOA.  Were did you buy your S410?

Did you get the original full plastic magazines or the after-market all aluminum ones with the plastic face.....there's a website that sells them...don't remember who...there's a thread around here mentioning them.   As PelletPaul asked...where did you order your AA410?  AoA, Pomoma etc.?

I ordered from Pyramydair.com for the gun.  Backlog now shows 01/26

http://www.airgunclips.com/ for the magazines

And a pile of pellets from straightshooters.com

I'am just like you. I have been buying support.  Elite 4200 5x15x40 scope (due here Tuesday) sent my bushnell 4x12x40 back to factory and did an upgrade.  Getting a carbon fiber tank (4500 psi) from JB tanks with attachments.  Still have not decided which gun to buy yet.  Going to AOA next week to shoot some guns I'am interested in.  Daystate Airwolf, Daystate X2 unregulated and FX Cyclone.  The only other one that interest me is the one your getting AA410 ERB, however will do a power modification by Pomona.  So hurry up and get this gun and give us all your findings.

The later model 4XX's don't need the PAG power mod, they have adjustable power from the factory.  They can still do the mod on the later guns, doesn't change the adjustment range but gives more turns from high to low.  Personally, not sure that's really an advantage, my Cyclone has 3 levels, and that seems to work out just fine, plus perfect repeatability in the different power levels.  JMHO, later.

: Why Single-Shot Tray?
: gamo2hammerli January 23, 2009, 05:08:59 AM
I`m wondering why airgunners with multi-shot shooters order them? Is it for specific shooting leagues/shoot-outs? Still a newbie here(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif).

I believe its because you can shoot pellets you normally could not shoot with your magazine.  ei predator pellets or longer pellets.  I'm new too.  Que in air gunners.

For some shooting events only single shot trays are allowed, no repeaters.  I think it's to keep people honest and not popping off a second shot on a missed target.  Also repeaters can have the tendancy to damage pellets, not bad enough to matter in a sporting environment, but enough to matter to the pellet washer/weigher/sorter types in competitive shooting.

Thanks for the info guys....that's what I thought....for certain competitions.  The fussy-pellet shooter sounds true also.  I guess if you need that shot to be in 1st place....the shape of the pellet is of utmost importance.

: johnnyi January 26, 2009, 03:45:53 AM
Yes that is the reason I bought the single pellet tray.....  if I decide to shoot a field shoot, and/or be able to shoot the long Predator pellets

Well it is Monday again and I check the update on Pyramid website for the Walnut... Backlog ROLLS out again another WEEK for the 4 or 5th week in a row... :(  I'm starting to loose my patients.   I dont mind waiting a little but this many weeks in a row to see another date slip, I dont like too much!   I guess it is good I already ordered the extra mags and tray, or I would be LOOKING for something else... :(

Johnny,,that's the only consistency when dealing with over-seas imports,,the in-stock date is almost never correct!!!!! I know your frustration,,I've been there a few times,I know it's easy for me to say, just sit back & try not to think about & than all of a sudden you get a knock on your door from fedex!!!!!!!   Besides it gives something to still look forward to recieving & when you do get it,you'll be happier than pig in ,,,,,well you know what I mean!!!

Johnny - You have to think about something else!  Go ahead and make or copy some targets to get ready.  Make some spinners, get creative.  Occupy your mind.  I'am going to AOA Friday to purchase mine and like you just can't wait.
Let us know when it arrives.

Well I just got off the phone with Pyramid Air.  Seems after waiting 2 weeks for the Walnut.  Seems they have them arrived and now they are not going to honor the price that I was given.  So I cancelled my order...  :(

"they are not going to honor the price that I was given..."

If you don't mind my asking...  do they have a new price on the S410's?  See, here's what I'm thinking:  I used to work at an online mountainbike mail-order company.  Now, depending on the quantity purchased by PA chances are their pricing will either go up or down.  Given the economy and not knowing how badly PA's been hit financially- if they purchased a lower number of these rifles their own discount goes down.

If they've upped the price- its because they either couldn't afford purchasing more(at one time) or don't have the demand to purchase in larger quantities.  Where wholesale is concerned- the larger the purchase from the manufacturer, the lesser the cost to the retailer or so it goes.

I'd hope these online retailers know that there are existing online forums(like this one) where such customer treatment goes seen by thousands of people.  If anything, they've stepped on their own peepee.

Just my two cents!

The person that placed my order gave me the coupon price.  Now they will not honor it...

That completely sucks!  Call Pomona Air.  They had them for $1055 in walnut.  What price were you quoted with your discount?

Sorry Johnny

Personally Stanley, I like the mutlishot models. I have had the single shot AA410 withbolt lever and the mutishot with the side lever. Both shoot very accurate but I guess when shooting targets I am a bit lazy..:) I keep an extra rotary clip for both my AA410 and FX Cyclone. That way I an pop off 20 shots with the AA and 16 shots with the FX. I have bought both the BSA Ultra and Scorpion T10, both are multishot shooter. Now I have bought another BSA Lone Star .22 which I will be comparing to my FX. Both are .22 cal and I am hoping it will be just as accurate. It is a single shot carbine and is just three inches longer than my BSA Ultra.

Another point is that the FX and the BSA Multishots are really for target shooting for me. The .22 FX and new BSA are full powered PCP's with lots of punch

I guess single-shots will always have it`s place....for competition and longer pellets.  For me...when I stepped into the "Darkside"....it was multi-shots all the way.  My thinking is why have a tube full of air and then still stop to reload....just pull the bolt or lever back and shove another pellet in...it`s so easy.  Only problem is I tend to spit more pellets downrange in one sitting then if I`m using a single-shot shooter.
