Hi,
I put in an order with Pyramid, just before the 22nd.
I wanted a multi for hunting but I didn't want to spend a million dollars for it. I actually sold off my Koric regulated and moderated Daystate to get it. I ordered mine in .177 so I could use it in Hunter field target as well. I really like that it's supposed to be quite, and the adjustable fill pressure and power. If these turn out to be shooters it's going to crush the market for everything else.
I've been doing a lot of clearing out of stuff at the house and I am not sure I can justify it but I may get one in .22 as well. I'll likely wait and see if there's second generation upgrade for this.

I am waiting, because it isn't here yet....
It'll be first PCP for me. It's American made and it's shrouded. The buzz on the new barrel was good. Price was (choke) right, for a hunting PCP. Until I factor in the scope and tanks, but that's the cost of doing business. Part of my justification was actually congratulating an American company for taking a risk, but really that just helped my justify the expenditure.
-
1. Its multi-shot.
2. Its made in America.
3. The price is right!
Can anyone tell if a pump is included just like the Disco?
-
As I understand, the pump is not included.
-
So will the Disco pump work or do we need to get the ones like FX and Hills.
I am new to PCPs, is there a difference between the Disco pump and the others?
-
Your Disco pump will work on your Marauder as it has the exact same quick connect fitting..... :)
Jeff
-
The Disco pump will work, so will any other PCP pump. The Marauder, like the Disco uses a Foster male fitting on the end of the reservoir. I would recommend a higher quality pump, like a Hill or FX pump.
-
...CFX Marauder, not to say he's the devil but he let me shoot his Talon SS and B-51. That's all it took to push me over the edge to the dark side!!! My first PCP with multiple shot magazine, barrel shroud, great looking ambidextrous stock, made in America...What more could you ask for?
-
I think I got #94 on the list.
I wanted something a little bit quieter than my Sumatra 2500R and a little bit more powerful than my B21 and RS2 in 22 cal. Yeah I know a could have just gotten a LDC for the Sumatra :) and run the power level lower.
-
I'm waiting for PA to get some in, and to hear some reviews from the fine folks here. I really like the fact that it's made here in the US. I also like the ambi stock, multi shot configuration, and shrouded barrel.

Just got an email from Crosman, saying my .22 Marauder has been shipped !!

It would be interesting to know if there are any box content or aesthetic differences between the first 100 guns from Crosman and the rest.

A couple of postings on the Air Gun Gate have mentioned a letter from Crosman in the box congratulating the owners on having one of the first 100 Marauders. And the reported serial numbers so far have been in the expected range (1 to 100).

I canceled my Pyramid Air order and reordered from a local shop. They were letting it go for $475, so it's worth checking on if you have a good local store.
I'd rather give the business to a local guy and also have someone I can just drive over to if there's a warranty issue.
-
I have one in .177 in route right now. When it gets here I'll chrony it in the garage, the R9 is no biggy for sound in the garage but the disco is alarming.

...Too bad I have to wait for the pump still (http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cry.gif) It sure is purdy though (http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif)I think I'll just sit here and look at it for a while and then mount the scope. Haven't got one specifically for her yet so she'll start out with the Bushnell Banner (http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)
It's Official now, I belong to the Dark Side..... (http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)

Congratulations David !!
If you're this excited now just wait until you can actually air it up and spit pellets outa it :)
Seriously though,,, congrats, I hope your pump arrives very soon..... I'm excited for ya buddy :) I'm already looking forward to your review....
In the meantime get out a new silicone cloth and give her a good rub down :)

I was planning on getting one, but then I saw the Evanix S10 Blizzard in 0.22 and now I am very torn.
Anyone else in this delema?

I haven't really looked at the Blizzards specs...... can you make all the adjustments on the Blizzard that you can make on the Marauder ?????
Jeff
-
It's almost $200 more.
There's going to be a wicked aftermarket for the Marauder. You can count on that. There's going to be hop ups galore.
USA made means you can get any part from the factory.
A!

All very good points......

There appear to be a lot of similarities between the Blizzard and the Marauder. It would be interesting to see a side-by-side comparison of the two or a full review by the same person.

I have one comming. A .22 marauder have 4500 psi carbon fiber 110ci tank waiteing for big Mo to arive. dose anyone know how many top offs 1000-3000 I will get from this tank.have pball shop in my town that dose 4500+ psi. lucky. thank's in advance 21grains
-
Hi, Frank......curious how much you paid for your tank ??? I stopped at a dive shop 2 towns from me(Leicester), & they never heard of a tank that would charge above 3200psi. They almost fell over when I told them I could charge the gun to 3000psi with a hand pump. One of the guys kept tellin' me I was crazy..........don't think I'll go back there.......................Raoul

Alright, just a summary of what I have been able to ascertain from various posts and web sights so far about the 0.22 versions of these rifles:
Price:
Marauder: $500
S10 Blizzard: $660
Muzzle Energy:
Marauder Energy: 30 ft lbs
S10 Blizzard Energy: 45 ft lbs
Accuracy:
Marauder: same-hole out to 35 yards; subjective based on shooter ability
S10 Blizzard: same-hole out to 35 yards; subjective based on shooter ability
Noise:
If the reports that the Marauder is a 1 on a scale of 10, then the Blizzard seems to come in as a 2, slightly noisier, but about the same noise level as the AA S410 in 0.22
Power Adjustments/Fill Sweet Spot Info:
Marauder: high-pressure sweet spot is about 2800 Lbs on a 3000 Lb fill setting. Setting can be changed to allow a fill pressure of 2000 Lbs with about a 30-shot string
S10 Blizzard: Rated at 200 bar or 2900 lbs, sweet spot seems to be at 2700 lbs with about a 35 shot string
Fill Port:
Marauder: Male Foster connector on end of reservoir
S10 Blizzard: Fill probe port that accommodates a double o-ring fill probe - would require a male foster adapter to work with existing Female Foster high pressure pumps.
Tune-ability: If the Marauder is anything like the Discovery, a little TLC and hammer weight polishing can flatten out the velocity curve over the range of shots, similar to the B51. Unknown what could be done to the S10 Blizzard at this time. I do note that based on other posts, the S10 has a somewhat chopy velocity curve, but tends to stay within 15 fps of the mean velocity over its shot range.
Blizzard is a longer rifle with a longer trigger pull length than the Marauder, trigger on the Blizzard is not adjustable for pull force and rates in at about 2# trigger is adjustable for length of pull. Neither rifle comes with iron sights and a scope must be installed.
All said and done, if you want to hunt with one of these guns at and beyond 50-yards, the S10 blizzard is probably the way to go. Under 50-yards and the Marauder hits the price/performance sweet spot.
Comments appreciated - I am still trying to decide which one to get.
One initial story I heard is that one person had to go through two S10 Blizzards, with a call to Pyramid on the third to get one where all of the screws wre tightened properly. Once the third one arrived however, nothing but great comments as to its power and accuracy.

The Pyramid site appears to rate both guns about the same loudness and claims the trigger is adjustable on the Blizzard ?
-
As for teh Evanix trigger, its adjustable, but not for weight of pull if I recall - two pounds is OK as long as it is smooth and crisp.
Heck, since I started looking at new PCP's again, I am now looking at four rifles:
Benjamin Marauder in 0.22
Evanix S10 Blizzard, Side Lever, in 0.22
BSA Super Ten MK3 in 0.22
Hammerli Pneuma in 0.22
Oh darn, may as well admit it, I am also looking at the Air Arms S410ERB side lever too!
Since I got a compressor, I got a bad case of PCP fever that needs a medicinal dose of a new PCP to alleviate it; I only have three of them now; a tuned Disco in 0.22, and tuned B51 in 0.177 and an older Air Arms S400 in 0.177. I am still leaning to the Evanix, assuming I can get a good one, since it has nearly 45 ft-lbs of energy out of the muzzle, versus about 30 ft-lbs for the other ones I mentioned above.
Heeeelllllllppppppppp (me spend my money)!

How are you going to use that extra 20 ftlbs?
Are you really going to shoot live animals beyond 50 yards? With any airgun I think that's a bit questionable.
Honestly, at some point, it's just time to move to a .22 rifle, no an airgun. Airguns have their uses and some overlap with rifles but really... for me when I start looking for more than about 30# it's just time to get a .22.
Plus, no pumping.

Ah, a good question and the answer tends to define my philosophy for air gunning! So lets see, well, to begin with, I have the ability to target shoot out past 100yds on my lot, I like shooting and I really like trying to shoot for accuracy at longer ranges, but I still want to stay sub-sonic and low mass (relative to powder weapons) for added range safety; hence an airgun approach. Add to that that I do not need a permit for an airgun in MD (I do not have a firearm) and I get the fun and challenge of shooting without some of the hassles other than range safety. Range safety is very important for me; I treat all my airguns as firearms when it comes to safety.
Not that I do not like to fire powder weapons, when I get the itch to fire powder weapons, and I do occasionally, I have friends that will oblige as long as I supply the amo - if you have not shot a Barrett 0.50 (civilian version) trying to hit a target at 1,000+ yards, you should try it, its expensive ($10 or so a round), but very satisfying when you can manage to hit the target (a 2ft square target). I just can not shoot at my house, and there are no shooting ranges close by so this is how I get my shooting satisfaction; and it really is satisfaction for me - heck my wife even understands that this is one of my ways to unwind.

... I just can not shoot at my house, ...
Can't because of noise or specific restrictions on firearms?
this is my solution to the noise problem.

Hmm ... I'm in-line image challenged ...

Noise, some what, and also I have a wooded back lot, good for shooting but, not cleared enough to insure a much longer clear safe fire lane. My nieghbors have guns and do not shoot in the neighborhood either - I figure if they don't, then I will respect that and will not use powder firearms either.

I received my Evanix Blizzard on Tuesday, today when putting on a scope I sighted in at 25 yds and then went to 50 yds. I was getting 1" groups. I have been shooting CPH's sorry no chrony. I paid the $ 10 for 10 from pyrmid and it was shooting 940 to 865 with 26 gr pellets. I shot 40 CPH's before needing a recharge. I love the magazine and multiple shots. You can send a lot of lead downrange in a hurry. It seems very accurate. I plan on remove some nervous squirrels and rabbits at 50 to 70 yards. I will hopefully be shooting this weekend at 75 and 100 yds. If I do I'll let you know.

Wow!
I am cutting a check now to get one from Joe Cuz at Long Island Airguns
Hope to have it in the next couple of weeks.
Did it come with the quidk fill probe?
I need to know if I have to buy one in addition to the male Foster to thread on to it for compatibility with my pump.
Thanks Al, can't wait till you get some data on it.

Hello Leadhead, sorry I have been away, I bought the tank for $100 at PW Paintball in South Street, Plainville, MA, its a carbon fibre, 110 cu.in. tank, and it cost approx. $4 to refill it. My gun is coming Tues. between 9 and 7 pm! Does anybody know how many top offs I will get out of that? Thank you very much ....21grains

I'd also be curious about the number of fill you can get out of your tank...........seems kinda on the small side.......

Sure does. The figure I've seen for the Marauder's reservoir is about 13 cubic inches (it's 210 cc). These tanks are so small that Airhog's fill calculator won't give any results for them....I tried it.

hello Leadhead my tank is 110ci 4500psi not 3000 My Maudi.holds 13ci from empty at 3000psi.so do the math its too much to use in one day.4500 makes all the diff.your finger will be tired before tank is empty. Lots of luck 21 grains
