: Anyone here from Austin?
: johnA July 24, 2009, 10:03:15 AM
Lets meet up to shoot or talk airguns!  I can't believe there isn't a club of some kind in my area.  If you're out there, give me a shout. Brothers and sisters, where are you??

You might check out Yegua Airgun Club in Somerville, looks like a great crowd and good people not too far from Austin.

Thanks Dan, looks like something to look forward to.  Sure would be sweet to run into some locals.  I'll check out the local rifle range and see if I can post a WANTED sign. He-he. :)

There's no club in Austin because of a lack of place to shoot.   Not to mention all the treehuggers and antigunners around here.  I live near Lake Travis.  We've got 4-6 dedicated field target shooters who trek out to the Yegua Airgun Club every month.   We're shooting next Sunday.   This will be our final match before the Nationals in Oct.   I think they do airgun silhouette at the Austin Gun Club but one of our FT shooters approached them about shooting there and was basically told no because our numbers just didn't justify giving us the space on weekends.

We've got shooters who regularly come from Llano, San Antonio and Tyler.   We also draw 5-6 shooters every month from Houston.   The Yegua Airgun Club is one the best airgun shooting facilities in the US.  Most of the Austin shooters usually show up for the weekend.   We try to carpool whenever possible to save on gas.   If you're interested, let me know.
