R-9 .177 with Hawke 4-16x50 AO Ballistic Scope. Crosman CP's 7.9

I am not sure if it was the CP's or me...:) But I did have some wild shots there and I think it was really me. Had not shot since the funshoot at Timmy's. I warmed up in the morning and did really bad but tried it again this afternoon again. I think my problem was breathing control and pulling the trigger and not squeezing it..:( The R-9 does have a 1lb trigger pull and I have not had allot of practice with that trigger much. She does shoot sweet once I got my rythem.

I think the score is 192 with 4X .

Also I might add that i am using a new back board material. Tommy had some down at Timmy's fun shoot last time. It really works great and easy to work with. It comes in blue and or pink...:) I liked the pink.. hehe It cost $11.00 at Home Depot for a 4'X8' sheet. I cut it into 2'X4' lengths to mount on my 30 yard back stop. Does not come appart and is waterproof.

"Pink Board"?!
Depending on how often you shoot, a 4x8' sheet cut into four 4x2' sections, each holding 10 targets can last a long while.  I like setting up to shoot, then only having to go down range once to put up the target and once to take it down.   Leaves more time for shooting.  Good shooting big guy!

Great Shooting Gene,

Your over 97%, that puts you in the Distinguished Expert Class !

To do better, you will have to weigh and sort your pellets, set up tissue flags to watch the wind or breezes, and I have found JSB Exacts to be a little better than CHP's. Also a heavier pellet will buck the wind better ! Also placing the rifle stock in the exact same position each time is very helpful in keeping the shots from being affected by the guns harmonics.

But that's fine shootin there buddy !!!!!

Thank Bill

Actually I went out earlier that day to shoot and could not hit one bulls..:) Waited till the coffee wore off and came back in the afternoon. Some days you got it and some day you don't got it...:)

The R-9 does prefer the CP's. I have actually done better but that is just another fish story..:) For sure the R-9 is up there as far as accuracy goes. Ony have a couple other springers that can compare and they cost more..:) But it is all about the fun of it and it really relaxes me to shoot stuff after a days work..:)

Well Gene,

That's why I never got to interested in Bench Rest, NO FUN !

Every week the competitors were coming up with heavier barrels, heavier stocks, special rigs to rest their rifles on. It took all the FUN out of it.......

So enjoy buddy,,, and have "FUN" your doing swell !
