A buddy of mines, neighbor is  apparently a air rifle lover too. He is shooting a wally world crossman 1,000 fps and some other low end stuff. He lvoed my Viper. But he had a nice 5 ft stack of firewod in a half circle with the targets in the Center. He used some ollllddddd silverware he had laying around and attached them to shower curtain rings. So if you shot them right they would "civil war them" as he called it.

Basically making it spin a few times around. Then he had some cans hung up etc. THe were all hanging on an some kind of jig made out of just simple plumbing stuff you  can get for $10 at loew's. You would shot them however you wanted, but you went down the line, or at least i did. I was the only one to shoot all of the cans off of the hooks in one shot, civil war everyhting but the butter knife in one shot also.

Then he had three logs int he front with these ordirve (sp) toothpicks, they were about 3/4 inch diamter circles. Can pick up a few hundred for 5 bucks at Sam's or something, drill some holes in the logs and put them in there so that they can move freely but stand up straight. Shoot the side and they spin 180, shoot them again on the side and they come full face. shoot the center, shoot the stick whatever.

Anyways, i had a blast doing this, was great breaking in the gun, but frustrating because i kept loosing my zero on the scope, and had ot change pellets because i kept running out. Got home and found out the guy at Dick's didnt tighten the scope down enough. That and i am not exactly used to the recoil yet, but that is what makes it fun and frustrating also. Hey Gene, when are we gonna go hunt?? I'm ready :)

Here is a pic of the setup. BTW a hickory stump WILL throw the pellet back at you. Also distance from his porch where we shot, about 20-22 yards.

That is pretty cool.   I may copy that in my yard.  I use my wood pile as the "back up" backstop for my target shooting also.  :)
