Without a chrony I think that the Ruger is shooting faster than the cat. Can you realy tell shooting 2 different guns that are mayby 100-150 fps faster than the other or is it undetectable ? If one shoots 750 and the other 850 is that noticable?

I don't think you can tell. Maybe some rifles will kick harder but that doesn't mean it's shooting faster. Use a chrony or use the "Phonebook" test.

If I am not wrong on this, the Airhawk has a larger compression chamber than a BC and should be able to send a pellet faster than a BC. This is assuming the other factors are nearly the same. And I doubt a person can without equipment say how fast something is moving.

you are right. side by side the Ruger action does look larger next to the cat. stands to reason the ruger should be faster.
