: Achtung!

Here's a golden oldie 1935 to be precise.
Another family sleeper ( seems to run in the genes this penchant for launching projectiles in one form or another throughout history and probably in all the parts of the world that were once pink on the old fashioned maps!!)
Haneal .177  MOD2 air pistol. Some of the first rifled 'arms' after the treaty following WW1 expired or was ignored.
This was a great uncles birthday present that was confiscated after busting one too many window panes and scaring neighborhood cats, stored in the loft space and forgotten over time.

Looks very similar to another famous German full bore shooting iron, probably weighs the same as it is completely made of very robust machined steel parts.
The barrel assembly, breaks as normal but this is to allow the insertion of a pellet directly into the rifled barrel only.
To cock the action the button is pressed in front of the trigger on the right side and the whole cylinder is rotated up and rear wards by grasping the barrel in one hand, holding the grip as normal in the other and rotating/ twisting in opposite directions.
Quite a strong spring to overcome even for an adult, so who knows how a nipper would have managed back in the day. Then again I suppose they were all made of sterner stuff back then!!

Nice shooting piece and with practice and before fatigue sets in can return a respectable group.

Cheers all John

Cool, I am supposed to have one of these in the mail as we speak. Have you ever had it apart?

Hi Dave
She tears down real easy, apart from driving out the obvious pins and screws to remove barrel or cylinder from the frame the end cap is knurled and unscrews (with a rag over to catch any flying parts!) to reveal access to spring, piston and washer etc.
Have fun !

seems to look more like a jap nambu or a american ruger than a p.08 , but still a nice looking pistol, you really come up with cool old pieces over there caplock, you do your family proud & yourself !!!
