: What does local paint ball shop need to fill scuba DIN tank?
: wahoowad May 17, 2010, 04:03:51 AM
I'm looking at a Luxfer 106cf scuba tank that is rated for 4350 psi. It come with a HP DIN valve. A local paintball place says they will fill it to 4350 for me if I provide the adapter they need. What what this cost me? I am not familiar with paintball fittings but assume he has a hose from his compressor with a fitting set to attach to 20 oz. paintball tanks. I have heard some places would not fill larger tanks but he said he would do it.
: I called Atlanta Paintball for you and asked.

Hey Wad, I picked up the phone and called Atlanta Paintball.
The guy told me that paintball shops do not fill scuba tanks as a general rule.

Hope that helps you in your quest

This paintball shop said they would if I provided the right fitting.

I take my fill set up and this male foster to male foster fitting I made up, to my paintball place.  They fill my SCUBA tanks to 3400 psi for me no problem.  All parts of my set up are rated for 4500 psi minimum.

The old slogan, "there are exceptions to every rule"  has been proven again.

I thought the fill nipple for a paintball tank looked just like a foster male, But I don't paintball and I didn't know for sure.
