Hi Yak, I believe there is an adjusting screw on this trigger. I haven't had that problem with mine, But I guess You can try turning the screw a couple of turns and see what happens.  It's ok to dry fire it to test. If it doesn't get better try going the other way with screw.  Good Luck

Brian, take off the right hand grip (2 allen screws I think).  Be careful that the springs dont shoot out - move slowly.  In the middle of it all is a brass nut kinda burried in the top part of the grip.  Using needle nose pliers, I was able to (eventually) tighten it about a half turn.  Solved the problem for me.  While you're in there, you'll also be able to see how the trigger adjustment works and how far not to go.  Careful again as springs can become dislodged and lost in the carpet, or worse yet your eyes (eye protection!)... I love this pistol and was saved by the advise given here..   Also, if you're brave you can remove the piston and debur the air inlet hole which eventually will eat your piston seal, and clean out the gunk in the cylinder.  Check the search function for the P17 - you'll find a bunch of useful info, as well as my learning curve.  Sorry, at work and not able to show you pics :)
