Not quite sure where to stick this question....

Have any of you guys tryed putting a crossbow bolt over a crony ?
Dose the bolt length efect the reading?..Or dose it just detect the metal head ?
and not the carbon shaft

Snows on the tops so the deer are in the valleys...time to play..

I believe it's when the first plane is broken to the second one, that is what determine's speed?not the lenght of projectile, just distance between screen's.

Now I've gave it a moment that is how it work's,break's light at point A then at point B of a known distance for the speed, nothing to do with detection of metal or such.Have a good an safe hunt!!!Toss one back for me when your sitting at the camp fire!!!!

Yep, that`s what I`ve read....object breaks light in the first sensor and then the light in the 2nd sensor...that`s how the speed is calculated.  I`ve seen bow shooters shoot their arrows through a chronograph....sometimes with the chronograph right in front and sometimes 30 yards downrange (In front of the target).
