If you've seen my pictures and my comments on "Airgun Gate" you know how I feel about the looks and feel of this rifle . It's a beauty , most likely the nicest stock I've ever had on a rifle, bar none. The gun balances and handles well ; I'm glad I got the hunter carbine. It actually seems lighter than it is. Of course carrying it around a couple of hours in the woods will give the final verdict. But I think it's manageable . The 2-stage trigger is adjustable for pull weight, pull-off point and length of first stage. Mine came a little heavy for my use and for precision shooting with a light hold , I removed the trigger guard (to gain access to the weight screw) and turned the weight screw 3/4 turn counter clockwise and put everything back , making sure I replaced the rear screw first and tighten per instructions in the manual. It also states not to over tighten the front screw , just "tight enough to stop movement within the stock". This made for a sweet trigger pull. Then off to the back yard for some shots over the chrony. I put between 75-100 shots through her yesterday and most of the dieseling has stopped . Just in case I started with some Kodiaks and shot 5 across . The results were stunning . A high of 859.1fps and a low of 855.1fps for a spread of 3.9fps and an avg. of 857.1fps , they were stacked up in a single ragged hole too. Next came superdomes and I was shocked at the speed these were coming out at. A high of 960fps and a low of 947.4fps for a spread of 12.6fps and an avg. of 953.7fps. Next were some CPL's with a high of 949fps and a low of 916.1fps and a spread 32.9fps; but that is for 15 shots and if I drop the highest and the lowest shots , which were first shots after changing pellets; I got a high of 944.5fps and a low of 920.3 and a spread of 24.2fps and an avg. of 932.4fps. A lot better IMO and they grouped nice too. Then last but definitely not least I shot the JSB's 8.4g. which grouped the best yesterday at 30 yards. I shot five that had a high of 885.1fps and a low of 879fps for a spread of 6.1fps , then I shot five more to get an avg. over ten shots and had one that went 893.1fps for a high which was the only one that was out of line of the ten and I had a little smoke in the breech on that one , so a little dieseling is still going on. Dropping that one shot I got a high of 886.8fps and a low of 879fps for a spread of 7.8fps and an avg. of 881fps. These are most likely the ones I'll use although the Kodiaks preformed more consistent ;but from what I've read ; a diet of heavies can cause a premature spring failure. The gun's a shooter . It's as smooth as a springer can get I would guess . It recoils; but it's manageable and if I do my part, it goes close to where I'm aiming , and most of the time where I'm aiming. It's grouping is being determined my ability to shoot a spring gun right now and I hope this will improve with time. It's a beautiful gun that shoots better than it's owner for sure. Here's a picture of my first group I shot with my new TX200 . I didn't shoot anymore ; I came in to post a picture as promised and watch football the rest of the day. hehehe I shot this without any warm up and it was shot at 30 yards from the sitting F/T position with JSB exacts . The orange dot is one inch. This is the best I could do if I used my PCP . I think she's a shooter . kirby :emoticon: I forgot to mention; this is a five shot group.

It's still breaking in of course , but it seems to be getting better everyday. Trying to put 50-100 pellets a day through her. shoots flat . kirby

Are those figures "out of the box" or have you had a power mod / tune done on it already?

That's a box stock TX-HC . I'm going to put a 3-400 pellets thru her and check her again. Give me a couple of weeks. kirby

Just wanted to let everyone know , it's been a week and over 300 pellets and she seems to be shooting great. Absolutely the best springer I've ever owned. I was shooting today at 30 yards , then 40 , then I backed up to 50 .Shooting from the sitting position , I tried splitting the gap between between the crosshairs and the bottom post and hit at six o'clock in the bottom of the one inch inside ring of my two inch orange dot. The ones with the black diamond in the middle. (Birchwood-Casey from Walmart) I then aimed twelve o'clock one inch from center on the two inch dot and squeezed the trigger. Dead centered the diamond . I was shocked !! I walked closer and inspected my shot and then went inside and put her up for the day. kirby

You have a real winner there Kirby! I'm starting to get "the sweets". What would you estimate the cocking force of your carbine to be? I can't find it posted anywhere.

First , Tex; the published cocking force needed is 34 lbs. The regular TX200 is 29lbs After I figured out the best way to hold it cocking it is not that bad . And the more I shoot it either I'm getting used to it or it's getting easier and definitely getting smoother. After over 350 pellets through her , she's shooting smoother too. After shooting 25 shots from the field target position today I decided to check her out with the Chrony . My first two shots were 853.5fps and 871.8fps; then the next eight were in the low 850's to the mid860's . My 11th and 12 shot dropped down to 834 and 830fps and I' realized I had placed the rifle differently on the sand bag; I moved it back to the balance point and the next three were 859.1,863.6 and 857.7fps. The next ten I tried to really concentrate on how and where I held the rifle and the numbers went : 862.6, 856.1, 862.7, 860.4, 865.6, 863.9, 868.6, 856.0, 865.9 and 843.3fps. That's for a high of 868.6fps and a low of 843.3fps and an average of 860.5fps with an ES of 25.3fps. I think the numbers will continue to improve as the gun breaks in. I did notice the avg. speed has dropped from 881fps to 860.5fps , all this with JSB Exact 8.4's .This is probably due to the gun settling in and it's speed not being supplemented by a little dieseling. I wished I bought one of these earlier . kirby

I just wanted to let everybody know that the TX200 has changed my opinion of springers . I struggled to learn how to shoot a springer and had giving up. I'm pretty picky about accuracy; particularly consistent accuracy . I like knowing if I miss , it was something I did that made me miss. With that , I will say now, that I think that if I had bought a TX200 before I bought my first PCP ; the dark side would not have drawn me over. No , I don't hit every thing I take aim at with the TX , but neither do I with the S400C that I still own. But , when I do put the crosshairs on something , I feel pretty confident that if I miss , it's me. This will not be my last springer . kirby

With the BSA 3x12x40 AO airgun scope it weighs in at 10 lbs even. I put a lace on sling on it Saturday and carried it around in the woods for a couple of hours and it wasn't bad . A sling makes a big difference. I've ordered some swivels including the type that attaches to the cocking lever as you would a tube feed lever action rifle. I think the weight helps with the stability and shooting of this rifle. It shoots as good as my R7 did but has power , 860-fps with JSB 8.4g. kirby

All Air Rifles are good when you can shoot them right..... some shoot wellwith a lot less effort than others
but that's what makes it interesting.... for me anyway :)

Kirby, I'm glad the TX200 brought you back a notch or so off the dark path, LOL. A truely well made rifle can make a believer out of most. Townsend Whelen has been oft quoted "Only accurate rifles are interesting."
I think we are lucky that accurate rifles can come in all shapes, sizes, mechanisms, price ranges.
