A bit of a let down when I took the pistol out of the package, tonight. Not enough time to shoot, but some visual observations:
1. The plastic grips and forearm are made of incredibly cheap plastic, and the pistol grips move, even when tightened.
2. The safety fouls my index finger in the "fire" position (I'm a lefty) so much, that I immediately took a dislike to the pistol. There's no excuse for designing an ambidextrous grip, but have the safety post foul a left-handed shooter's trigger finger.
3. The pistol is useless in stock condition for lefties (I'm sure there are those who find it just ducky). For an American Classic, I expected this oversight to have been resolved years ago.
4. I'll be selling the pistol, possibly before it's even fired. I've got the shoulder stock and dovetail mounts coming for it, so those will be sold as well.
Two thumbs down on this incredibly cheap pistol.

Have to agree with you on the grips and stocks..Very cheap and could not get tight..I also had to drill the rear sightbase to get enough windage adjustment..Accurate though and I did enjoy shooting it but in the end I got rid of her..

Well fellows,
I have two 1377's, and I enjoy them to death. For the price and accuracy, I have been very pleased with them both. One is the olderrear cocking model, and the other is the bolt cocking, new model. Being a righty I have no problems with them.
I couldn't tell you how much fun I have had shooting silhouette chickens with them, and frogs!
I know that there not the best air pistol in the world, but for $50.00, I think there neat...

Sorry to hear that , I also own a 1377 and she is a great little pistola. I've done trigger work and some internal mod's but she's stock other then that. The Hunting Gate and My Album show some successfull hunt's with her and I'm a lefty also. :o Ed

I experimented with the ol' curling the trigger finger to clear the safety post, and may have to force myself into that hold to fire it without obstruction. The 10 bucks off was a good deal, and I might modify the post, instead of sending it back. The interference of that darn safety is like getting a piece of gravel stuck in my shoe...really hacks me off.
Will think about this more...

You know I've got the SP2 and I also have the cummins Air Pistol. Both break barrels.
I was having a ball the other day shooting indoors at about 30' just playing, adjusting, and getting 2-3" groups and closing.
When I picked up my then un-scoped 1377 that was in the same case beside me and shot it 3 times at 3 pumps each shooting 3 dead eye bulls in a row. :D It wasn't as much fun as the Chinese guns but tickeled me a whole lot more.
A warm and fuzzy feeling inside, if you know what I mean?

Oh yea, the steel breach, trigger shoe, scope and shoulder stock wasn't on yet. It was $30, $8 and $19 for the breach, shoe & stock from Crosman. I found the scope on the floor at a K-Mart and took it to a scanner. It scanned as pellets $3.97 so I bought the scope because I like shiny things.

Krylon Fusion is made for plastics and works quite well.

sorry Charles I forgot I added to this thread.
I used duplicolor truck bed paint. It sticks to plastic real well and has a semi-rubberized texture.
I bought it at WalMart , my buddy used one of the plastic special paints that worked well too.

Hey Guy's Mine has a loose barrel I put the scope mounts from Pyamydair & the ballel moves just enough to make it shoot off to the right or left depending on witch side you bump the
scope ?
Any one had this happen on theres?
is there a screw loose some where? for the Barrel.

I had the same problem when I mounted my scope from Pyramyd Air. I just loosened the horizonal screw on the mounts and slid in plastic shims that I made from a one gallon milk jug on each side of the barrel and then tightened the screws, no more movement. I'm using this mount: Crosman 459MT 2-Pc Intermount, 3/8" Dovetail http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Crosman_459MT_2_Pc_Intermount_3_8_Dovetail/190
They should have put a rubber coating on the inside bottom of this mount so it would grip the barrel. I have the old style with the rear cocking and slide for the pellet.

I just recently put a scope on my setup. It will shoot penny sized groups from 60 ft. I am very impressed!!! But like you guys if you bump the scope hard enough it will. move the setup. the barrel is loose.

goto crosman's web site and get a steel breech for $30 it's the best and 1st mod that should ever be done to any 13xx or 22xx gun with a plastic breech you won't have any scope shifting after you put one of them on.

so i ordered the breach, forearm, & 24" Barrel.
they were out of 18" so I'll see how it does
But mite cut it to 18" & got a seal kit also :)
