: BAM B-30

I waited until it was darn near dark and the UPS guy finally arrived with my package. I tore into it like a little kid on Christmas, hoping to get a few shots through it before the sun set. It was packaged well and arrived in near flawless condition. I wiped it off, sent a few goo gone patches down the bore and headed for the back porch. When I cocked it, I was surprised on how much effort it actually took to bring the lever to full open and the awful noise it made reminded me of my 'pre lubed' TF-89.  I sent a few pellets down range just to get an idea of what I had gotten myself into. It seemed to either be mildly dieseling or just really loud and when I did get the sights close to target, it was getting dark. I spoke with Trek, one of our members, and he had asked if I opened her up yet. I said I didn't have time for that and had just shot it. I sat and pondered on that until about 10pm and decided to take a peek and see what makes her purr. Long story short, I only barely disassembled the trigger group and polished one sear (what an amazing difference that made) on the adjustable trigger.I also gave this bone dry rifle a serious cleaning and lube. It's still a bit noisy on cocking, but it's much smoother overall. This thing shoots hard! Cpl's cross the chrony at about 950fps and I shot a nickel sized 5 shot group tonight at 22yards. Trek was out today and he can attest to it not being very hold sensitive, because I was shooting it one handed off my rest while on the phone and hitting my silhouette swingers at 25yards. He told me I should shoot it that way all the time...I have never shot an RWS 48, but if someone's in the market for a rifle built like a tank and from what I've seen, a friendly shooter, then the B-30 would be a good bet. I also couldn't pass up the deal, I bought it off an individual from the 'other forum' for $110 shipped.

Here's a five shot 25yard rested group with iron sights. This is going to be a sweet shooter when I get my optics for it.

I bought my B30-1 from Best Airgun with the 3-9x40 scope and one piece mount with stop pin and I love it. I ordered a McCari tune kit and seal but haven't tuned it yet. When I do, I'll polish the trigger a little and adjust it. It's a great air rifle for the money. It's a cannon of a springer.
