A story worth watching
« on: September 27, 2008, 03:41:09 AM »
I will be keeping track of this little high seas adventure:

Anyone interested in a betting pool on pirate life-expectancy?

Sadly, may apply to crew as well....

After watching Russia's use of their Spetsnaz, Special forces, I wouldn't give you a plug nickle for the survival rates of the pirates !

They are my kind of soldiers, fast, efficient, and fearless. A very business like, dedicated group of men :)

They go in, get"R" done, and go home !

If for some reason, the pirates choose to try for the Russian Military Vessel, :) I'd love to see the videos !

Just my opinion !

Aye. Up to now they have been collecting ransoms from the Euros, Japanese, and the like. Hijacking a Russian armored battalion with a "sold" sticker in the window is a horse of another color. Russki frigate inbound.

It is high time this strait was cleaned up. Putin has few points to lose in world opinion, but might actually gain a couple by doing the world community's janitorial work in this smelly corner.

A few strategically located A-10 gatlings aboard the freighters should dispatch the interlopers.

Reports of an internal shoot-out on board, unconfirmed, 3 dead?
And they're not pirates. Why no, they're a sort of Somali coast guard- just ask them!

How much does a T72 Russian tank cost?  I think the Canadian govt should paid the ransom and acquire the tanks.....we desperately need some new tanks.  Those T72`s are pretty high-tech if I`m correct, and we get to free some hostages.....  We can always go back there and bomb those pirates later....  Oooops, maybe I`m a little too late....something`s happening on that cargo ship.

And we are still watching: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7670163.stm

I just gotta know how this one ends. Sooner or later there is going to be a payoff or a shootout. The long shot money would be on them blowing themselves up.

Apparently concrete is worth more than a Russian tank brigade to some folks. At least they rescued the concrete.
