Talon still on.
« on: November 09, 2008, 10:40:40 AM »
My little starling friends are coming back around. They just didn't know I would have a new friend waiting for them. The Talon might actually bore me, if everything I aim at dies. The first starling I shot at I hadn't even sighted it in yet. Today I had a chance to mess with it. And it wasn't far off at all. A flock of starlings decided to fly in range and this poor little fella never knew what hit him. Settled the cross-hairs on him squeezed the trigger and watched hem drop like a rock. It is nice to see the impact through the scope. My only issue is the medium scope mounts. I have to push my cheek onto the tank, and when I pull the trigger I push the tank right with my cheek. That moves my poi left. Hopefully a high mount or tri-rail will help that.

Good shooting Dan.  Nice Talon.  It seems half the people on the forum now have an Air Force gun :)

You definitely need the high rings + I got the Workbutt-II which is an adjustable shoulder piece that replaces the stock one at the back of the tank.  My Condor came with medium rings and I almost strained my neck trying to look through the scope.   I then got the high mounts and it helped, but still, I had to push the gun up all the way to the top of my shoulder sometimes, and that metal butt piece was kind of bothering me.  The Workbutt was one of the best mods I 've done.  It's also curved and vertically adjustable and fits on my shoulder perfectly.  Go to the TAG forum if you are interested in one (they 're $50 shipped).  Almost everyone there has one.  Adam Vigil makes them and sells them (nickname: Wakonking or something like that).

Thanks Harry, The butt plate does bother me.  I will check it out. Sounds like the perfect item for my Christmas list.  I am glad to here that the high mounts help. That is one thing that I will be picking up sooner rather than later.
