The wait is over / Thanks and Thumbs Up Gene!
« on: November 15, 2008, 01:36:20 AM »
I got my 350 back from Gene yesterday. I am a happy camper. For those of you who have not seen Gene's machine work, it is first rate. The muzzle brake he made me is a thing of beauty. He also made a brass cover to hide where the rear sight was. I had Mac 1 send him their brass screw cup kit for the stock screws and he installed them as well. Gene did his Turbo Tune and it's worth every penny. Those of you who have a 350 know that it can be a bit much and a little rough around the edges. The cocking stroke is now smooth as silk with no catches or hiccups along the way. The firing cycle has been tamed and the twang and torque are gone. Velocity is up even though that was just a bonus. She is now over 22 foot lbs. The standard and average deviation were both cut in half plus some. I stripped the ring base screws reattaching the scope so accuracy results will have to wait. I was getting under 1/2" groups at twenty yards with a loose scope so I think she will be fine in the accuracy department.

Gene I appreciate what you did buddy. Any of you that have been on the fence about a tune with Gene should jump off now! Just do it!

I am heading to elk camp to visit a buddy who drew a tag for this season. I will try and post some photos of Gene's work tomorrow.

That's GREAT James,

I'm glad to hear that you are so happy with your Tune by Gene and his Custom Tunes :)

But I never suspected anythin less, than a GREAT Tune from Gene, he's a excessive compulsive perfectionist ! And Bob helped make him that way ! hehehe

I wish you the best of LUCK on your Elk Hunt, their GREAT eating :) Enjoy !

Thanks Bill. I wasn't hunting this season, it was a buddy. I agree the elk are good eats.

I got to shoot her quite a bit yesterday and she just gets sweeter so far. Here is a photo of the 350 and the R7.
