Wow very nice scenery!  thanks for sharing Jeff.  The snow makes it very picturesque.
It doesn't matter that you didn't get shoot anything.  Just being out there away from home and the routine makes it exciting and relaxing at the same time and enjoyable to be with company -  especially Joe's I would imagine because who wouldn't want to be with someone with a red flaming cap and a big long shiny shroud?  That makes a very interesting person :-)  Who cares if that shiny LDC is visible by the animals from miles away? hehehe   Just kidding Joe!   :o

Loved the pics and I 'm sure it was a great outing regardles of the result.  I have not done that in the snow in a few years.  It's better when you have a buddy to go with.  All my friends have hung up their guns and are soccer (dads) or swimming coaches all of a sudden  :0  One of them even told me last weekend I don't like shooting animals anymore.. so it looks like I will be venturing out alone pretty soon into the 5,000 state acres near by.  Deer season is over so it should be safe..  I 'll bring my camera and take some pics of the area too.

Randall,,I luv ya buddy,, :) Your the only one that understands my flaming ORANGE HAT,,,,,,,, :p  Other hunters aint gonna mistake me for anything but a HEAD-CASE :o  :o  :D ,,,,,,,,,,I owe a special thanks to J for the CAMO VEST,,, :) J sent me the vest & a nice camo do-rag that I would have worn if I wasn't bald,,,, :p yesterday was definitely a cover your head & ears with orange flames day :D  :D  :D the do-rag will shortly become my favorite.....Jeff has also been gettting the hunter into this city boy,,beside sharing his incredible knowledge,,he also hooked me up with a nice pair of camo gloves,,,, :) even though there was no action(I'm starting to think it's my fault),,,spending the day with someone of Jeffs qualities as a friend,,is definitely PRICELESS :)  :) I am hoping for another trip tomorrow,,,I need one good hunt before Christmas......This time I might even add a bit more of that CAMO BLINGY(hunter style this time)  MAYBE.......LOL!!!!!

The snow did make for a beautifull scenic venture!!!!!

Definitely, you guys are having great and memorable time together. That’s not the image of the harvested game that will be embedded in your memory, but the fact of the wonderful time you spent with friends. Now, if one day Jeff lets me in his hunting circle, you might have pictures of both of you together too

Joe, keep wearing that hat proudly. I believe that it’s not the color that worries the guys; it’s flames….. I agree with you 100%. It’s better to be seen by animals, than not seen by another hunter. I’ve got a Camo hat, but I’m wearing Hunter Blaze orange band over it. Most of the animals (not the birds) don’t see orange color anyway, tough I’m not sure about nutters.

Reminds me of when I used to live in the Mid Wet. GREAT Story!

I'm gonna have to take a mini vacation one day & head out to New York / Jersey and get in on some of that! How much is a non-resident license??? hehe

This post reminds me of the "Me and Joe" stories Skeeter (Charles) Skelton , used to write in the "Shooting Times" magazine years ago. I enjoyed those as well.
