Best pellet in QB79
« on: January 21, 2009, 03:42:35 PM »
Well I finally ordered the QB79 I've been wanting from Archer today.  I've read in the past that people have found that the co2 guns like heavier pellets like the Beeman Kodiak.  So what do you think?  I want to order some pellets so I can enjoy my new rifle as soon as it arrives.  BTW, I am planning on doing the Charlie Da Tuna tune to the gun.

Mine likes a variety of pellets. The BEST bang for the buck I think are the pellets that Archer sells. THE PEAK Domes. I can print quarter sized or smaller groups ar 25 yards with them.

It also likes Beeman Ram Jets, Kodiaks, Crosman Premier Domes, Predators and believe it or not, Gamo Raptors.

Mine's a .22, but I've also got a QB78 in .177 and it likes the same pellets. It'snot very fussy at all.

Thanks for the feedback.  I'm thinking I'll just order some Kodiaks.

Adam, Beeman Silver-Arrows, and Silver-Stings (both pointed) are a pretty good pellet in my Benji pumpers,...you may give them a try also. The Arrows are around 11.5 grns, and the Stings are around the mid 8 grn range. I'd try as many different pellets in you rifle and find which works best in it. I don't care for pointed pellets in my springers,...but in the pumpers, they seem do shoot better?!?!?!? Good Luck and Happy Shooting, tjk

Jot a week old QB78 Deluxe and I tried Daisy .22 flat nosed from Walmart I was using for breaking in my Rs2 and was suprised It was doing good after sighting it in I have to double check if the pellet left the barrel, it's been doing shoot overs @ 15 yards. Shot a concrete block at same distance and pellet mushroomed with skirt centered like the yoke of a fried sunny side up egg meaning it shot straight and did not tumble. I have been using it ever since & can't beat less than $3.00/tin of 250. I'll try CP hollow 14.3 once I get the stuff to bulk fill this lead pusher. I get 40-50 full shots on to carts then it start to shoot low.
