New English Lass
« on: January 30, 2009, 03:08:02 PM »
I posted here eariler about making a deal on a Daystate Harrier X. I received the rifle a couple of days ago. Things have been pretty hectic for me the past few days, too much to do, not enough time. I finally rounded up the high mounts I needed to mount the scope yesterday and today I received a UPS gift at the door with a box of CP Heavies and a couple of tins of JSB Exact Heavies that I want to try in the gun. I got the scope mounted last night and today had just a few minutes to spend filling the rifle and taking just a few test shots with her. Wow, this little rifle hits like a hammer, lots of juice. I shot just a few shots offhand @ 10 yards to see where it was shooting. I need to get the scope properly zeroed, but I was very impressed that shots two and three went in the same hole, about 4" low at 10m, well centered. I'll give more comprehensive impressions when I get to spend some quality time with this hussy. I can already tell she's a shooter....... :)

The current stable, (arsenal, quiver?): BSA Lightning XL .177, BSA Sportsman HV .22, BSA Ultra .177, CZ634 .177, Daystate Harrier X .177, TAU 200 Senior .177, HW 97 .177, HW 50s .177, HW 30 .177, RWS 92 .177, Gamo 126 MC Super, Gamo Big Cat .177, AR2078A, QB78 .177, Quest 1000 .177, Beeman SS650 .177., Beeman P17 .177.

That's gonna to be a lot of adjustment if it's all scope (120-some-odd clicks).
Have you been able to shim the hussy's rear scope ring yet?
:-)

I may have been off in my guestimate of 4" low on the first few off hand shots. The scope was not opticaly centered. Elevation knob was probably on the low side as it came off another rifle. About 25 or so clicks up and a few to the right and she's spot on.

She's a shooter. 10 shots, CP Heavies @ 10m, benched. Using the bull X hairs as POA, POI adjusted for a 30m zero:

What an excellent looking air rifle, Peak.  I love that ambi stock, too.  Where can I get one of my own?  Anxiously awaiting your review.

Another very pretty PCP...you sure know how to pick them.  And great accuracy from the looks of the single hole in the target.
