My RWS 350 is a MONSTER!!
« on: December 17, 2006, 03:26:32 PM »
Wow!  What a gun!

I am so very impressed with this gun.  Had my shooting buddy come over today and we did a bunch of target practice.  Me with my 350 and him with his Shadow 1000.  He is a seasoned hunter and I outshot him at every turn.

I must say that:

1.  This gun is powerful.  Amazingly so.  I'm getting 24fp at the muzzle and 14+ at 50 yards with Predators.
2.  I dunno why but it only drops about 3" out at 50 yards.  Awesome.
3.  As was said by someone else, if it doesn't like a particular pellet it will tell you really fast.  So far I've only been able to use BSA Wolverine FT's and JSB Predators.  It shoots the Predators amazingly well and groups fantastically.
4.  This thing is so damn smooth and while it boggles my mind to say it, it has a better trigger than my Shadow with a CDT trigger.  It's smoother, lighter and crisper.  That is saying alot!
5.  With the right pellets I am hitting what I want out to 70 yards.  Yep, 70!   I remember LongIslandHunter saying that he was pretty sure it'd take a crow out at 70 yards and I have to say that after hitting a gallon jug of water and it blowing through with no problem, I believe it would take that crow.
6.  I definately need a higher power scope (using a BSA 4X32) with mil dots.  It will make the guess work NOT guess work.
7.  I really feel sorry for the squirrels and rabbits around here come spring.  They are in for a VERY unpleasant surprise.

I don't have a 350(yetLOL!), but I do have a couple of 48's and I know what you  mean. There is some magical feeling when tin can plinking at 70+yds, and getting consistent hits!

With the 16.0 grain BSA Wolverine FT rounds it averages 773fps.  With a bc of somewhere near .019 (probably higher) that comes to 21.29 fpe at the muzzle.

With the 16.5 grain JSB Predator rounds it averages 814fps.  With a bc of .025 that comes to 24.30 fpe at the muzzle.

Is that what you were looking for?
