My first china experience:)
« on: February 25, 2009, 02:20:37 AM »
Well it would not have been on my list... but under much pressure from my youngest,  we now have one of these http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=213776   .  It was a great deal for me as I traded hard labor and fire wood to the house!
Does anyone know what the heck it is.. a B-3 ? is there any info on possible tuning or experiences from others on this one? It has a really short  folding stock and length of pull is perfect for kids. It is proving to be quite accurate for this price range and is fun and easy to use.  All comments and info  welcome. Tony

Hi Tony,m

Yes, it's basically a B-3 power plant in an "AK" form.  I have 2 of em, one in .177 and one in .22 and I gotta tell ya,,, they are great little shooters, especially when home tuned.  You can use the  spring and piston seal from the QF-2 tune kit ($10 bucks), combined with a good cleaning, deburring and proper lube job to make these rifles really sing.  Mine responded very well to my home tune and they hit hard, are accurate and have served me well as backyard hunters, even taking out squirrels at 20 yards.

Archer airguns (the link is in the library) actually sells quite a few "add ons" for these guns that you may be interested in.  Check out their website.

They come packed and smeared in that "chinese mystery oil" so the first thing you should do is remove the rifle from the stock and clean her up.  Then put the stock back on and have some fun shooting her.  In the meantime you can do some research on tuning her up and you'll be all set.

I think you're going to be surprised at how good they shoot and how much fun they can be.  Just a word of caution though,,,, with these side levers be sure to hold onto the cocking arm securely when loading a pellet.  They have a safety mechanism, and it works well, but one must always be mindful of safety,, especially when dealing with this kind of loading mechanism.

I have a couple of websites that give good info and pics on tuning these things up...... I'll find em and make another post so you can check em out.....

I would say no, they are not same gun with different stock. Some differences are: piston, side lever instead of under, trigger mechanism,  sights. By the way, I am almost sure there is already same piston seal than in earlier mentioned service kit.

As Jeff mentioned the internals are darn close and use the same replacement part's. They'll make for a good little shooter with some TLC. Ed
