r9 muzzlebreak install (screw problem)
« on: January 11, 2007, 08:52:43 AM »
The set screw sticks out a tiny bit and my hand catches it when cocking. I can't find a shorter one at the local hardware, or one in nylon. Any suggestions? It is only about .5 to 1 mm too long.

Can ya just file a little bit off the tip?  Stick it on the end of an allen wrench to help hold it, then just run it back and forth along a flat file.  Should be able to file a tad bit off and save your hands.  I wouldn't file the hex head end, you wont have anything to unscrew it:)

I have a suggestion Dano.... :) find a nut that will fit on that screw. Put the nut on it and then grind the bottom of screw down to where u think the length is right. then un screw the nut and it will mend the threads where you were grinding...:)
