Crosman Quest barrel
« on: March 31, 2009, 12:50:17 AM »
Does any body know if the Crosman quest or the variants barrels screw in to the block or just pinned in. I'm trying some barrel cropping during my forum lay off. Thanks in advance. Jason

Threads in, then pinned to the breach block. Haven't been able to figure out the pin yet, like it may be tapered, then peened flush.

Would prefer to not 'drill' the pin out, though.

Thanks J. I've been having a hard time getting a good crown and I'm concidering removing the barrel to put it in a lathe to crown it.

It would be best to order a new barrel. I am sure they are cheap from Crosman. Reason is that when removing these barrels about 95% of the time you will mess the barrel up. Just my thoughts and actual hands on many of my own barrel changes.

They are cheap from Crosman, but if it's a .22  ....GOOD LUCK! I've been trying to get a Quest 800 barrel for some time now and they say they don't stock them because the Quest 800 is a discontinued gun.

hey Jason when I put the .20 cal on my G-1 we originally thought it was screwed as well but it was just pinned and then pressed in but very tightly the breech had to be heated to get the barrel out
