My friend's birthday gift...
« on: March 05, 2009, 01:11:12 PM »
....is almost done! He came over to my house while back and I let him shoot  my QB79 and he just couldn't stop shooting it.
Since he has 4 kids it is not easy for him to buy airrifle so I decided to get him QB78 and re-do it. I wanted to make it work not on 12gr CO2 but on 88gr CO2. So I took idea from Ribbonstone (Robert) and bought gas block for QB79, cut the threads from the end of the gas tube and drill holes for gas block...works nicely! Gas block went in nicely and now I have QB78/79 with stock that has long forarm and it looks nicer in my oppinion than on QB79
But then I decided to make him a custom stock for this gun- something from the heart. As you know it is my second stock and the first one was for my Patriot, which I think came out so-so.
I found really nice walnut blanks which you can see on the picture before they became stock.
IMO this one came out little bit better then the first one (practice I guess)
I put the action inside and it ballances so nicely.
The pictures are without the action but I will post the whole setup later and sorry for the pictures quality

One of the most incredible designs I've seen. The stock is contoured in all the right places with a perfect blend of sharp chiseled angles to go with it. I think you inspired me to attempt a new stock for my favorite shooter. If I don't like it, it will make good kinling. :o

Wow Anatoliy, can't believe I missed this post.  Fantastic wood carving.  You've got the skills.  Is it finished yet?  Can't wait to see the finished QB.

Thank you guys so much! Yes in fact I did finish it and I posted pics on airgun gate because it is finished rifle. My friend couldn't believe what he saw and honestly I didn't believe that I did it. But I guess when you do things for others out of unselfish heart God works through you- God exists. I hope it works and if not then it is under the title of " Tomorrow my friend's birthday... finally"
