Matthew , I am not sure what pcp you have but I just went through the same thing for FX Cyclone. I do not own a FX or Axsor pump so can not directly answer your question. Will only say after all my research I ended up with a Hill Pump with the "dry pack" as i will be using it in humid conditions. I read it can also pump for longer if need be without over heat,  I am not really sure this  matters as I normally only get down to 160/150 before I fill back up again, takes just a few minutes :). The hill factory backup is reported to be excellent, hopefully I wont need that as they are supposed to last for decades!. I purchased a spare seal kit to have on hand if need when out in the wilds:)  So far has been excellent to use.
I can only recommend the hill because its the only one I have, I'm sure the others work well too  because I did not see any negative stuff on them. Some people don't like any of the pumps because  it is not that easy for light weights or kids to use them  you have to pump slow and from the Knees!! If you were to be viewed from a distance I feel sure  people would think you were  weird LOL. Good luck on pump choice, Tony.  BTW this is where I got mine     http://www.pilkguns.com/masprlist.htm#hill

The Axsor pumps were made by FX. Not sure if the Axsor pump is of the same current generation of 3 and 4 stage design as the current FX. I have a current generation FX and can state that it is a very well made pump. The current FX uses two drier attachments and a debris screen in the hose line assy. The current FX pumps use a micro bore hose.

I have to give another vote for the Hill pump. Seems well made, and not as hard to use as some say. I bought one from Pilkguns to air-up my Marauder & am very pleased with it. Make sure to get the Dry-pac with it.........

Will the Gehmann FX 3 stage pump work for the Marauder?

You got me. I have a 3 stage Axsor pump. mine doesn't have the micro-bore hose nor the super-duper filtration and dessication of PeakChick's FX pump, so I'm a little jealous. However, it works well. It's not as hard as I've heard, though you do need to have some body mass to use one. It's not like a bicycle pump where you just pump it with your arms. The high compression ratio of the pumps requires your body weight to be used, in addition to your muscles. Some of my more slightly built friends have trouble getting the ram all the way down. Seems they could use it as a pogo stick. I have enough mass in my pants that it's not a problem for me.

I had an FX pump and it wasn't all that bad. Mine did start to wear after awhile, but it was still functioning when I sold it. What other folks have said is true, you DO need a little body weight to pump past 150bar or so, after that it's pretty much all body weight and bending at the knees. I ended up after a year or so buying one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Scuba-FILL-STATION-ADAPTER-AIR-NITRO-HPA-PAINTBALL_W0QQitemZ160332412776QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_2?hash=item25548e7768&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

I think I paid $30 for mine, then I added a microbore hose to that which I already had, and bought a SCUBA tank for about $200 new. All in all it cost me about the same as a Hill pump does new, and I never have to pump again. The only thing I wish is that I had bought the tank to begin with, it would have saved me a bunch of exercise:) While the pumping isn't bad, I still find that I shoot a whole lot more now that I don't have to pump anymore. My SCUBA shop will fill my tank to 3400psi, which will give me quite a few fills on my AA S200 and Discovery that both sip air. If I was shooting something that required a higher fill pressure, or something with a huge air resivoir then I might look into a carbon fiber 4500psi tank, but so far I haven't found anyplace that will fill a tank like that here where I live.

Dano, what's the difference between that and a regular refill clamp?

adaptor price linked is a good one
« Reply #10 on: May 23, 2009, 12:21:03 PM »
The link is to an adapter that is priced at $24 which is less than I just paid for one on another forum and much less than at Pyramid. For a Disco I would stick with a 3500PSI tank or two that cascade but for a 2800-3000PSI gun, a 4500 PSI tank makes sense.

I'd like to get a 4,500 psi pony tank. Seems to be a handy accoutrement for hunting with a PCP.
