What air rifle do you have the scope on? Simple fix would be to shim therear of the scope (If you've run out of "UP" clicks and the gun is shooting low) with a few thin pieces of plastic film....plastic soft drink bottles work fine......to give the scope'srear end more lift. Make sure you don't over shim and then tighten the scope rings too tight or you'll compress the scope tube abit. A more expensive method would be to buy a fully adjustable scope mount.....maybe an Accushot or something like that. Search the forum here....there's been a few "Running out of scope adjustment" posts.

I had the same problem with my scope today.  I was shooting low and couldn't get enough "UP" clicks to get it shooting high enough.  I used the soft thin sticky padding that was on my extra mounts to shim the scope.   HOWEVER, I shimmed the BACK end of the scope to get it shooting high enough.  Seems like it would have the opposite effect but that is what worked for me.  I shimmed the front end of the scope first and almost shot under my pellet trap.

A good 'rule of thumb' to remember is that you want to keep the scope inline with the barrel vertically as well as horizontally,...and not the action/compression tube. tjk

Sounds like a scope mount issue to me. There maybe some useful info  in the GTA Library under scope mounting and shim guide:) Tony

I've been known to use masking tape in the scope mount forward to gain some clicks back...

Let's get back to the question,...although it leaves alot of wondering if your elevation is all the way high,...or all the way low. Well let's assume you're hitting the target low,.and can't bring your POI (point of impact) high enough to hit where you're aiming. With most break-barrels,...there is always some degree of "droop" where the barrel is attatched to the action,...or reciever as some call it. So #1,...forget about how straight and true the mount is to it,...if you have barrel droop,..the problem isn't in the mount, but the scope and where it is set! You want the scope and the barrel to be on parallel planes to each other. Say you're shooting, and hitting low as assumed,....if you shim the front of the scope,...in all actuallity,...you will be moveing you scopes POA (point of aim) even farther away (higher) from your intended target,....in other words you'll be going in the wrong way!!!!! In this case, you'll want to shim the rear of the scope so it will be parallel with the barrel!!! It's a common mistake for folks to shim the front of their mounts,...and I've been guilty of doing it myself when I started fooling with these "BB-Guns"!!!! LOL's Best thing to do would be to recenter your elevation retical, shim the rear of the mount/ring with a number of different types,....aluminum can strips, 35mm film negatives, or even strips cut from a plastice soda bottle. I prefer aluminum myself. Place two or hree strips under the scope tube on the rear ring portion of the mount/rear ring. and then go back and adjust the elevation if needed. It may take a few times of "trial and error", but once you find the right amount of shimming required to hit close to your POA, then make your final adjustments with the rets and you should be good to go!!!!! Good Luck, tjk

Sounds like what you mentioned could be what I had to fix.  Great info!  Thanks!

Just bringing this back up.  What Tjk said is absolutely true.....if your gun is shooting low....and you've run out of "Up" elevation clicks.....shim under the scope at the rear scope mount.  I was trying to shoot at some 50 meter distance targets and ran out of "Up" clicks.  I knew I was going to experiment so I had six pieces of plastic film (Soda container plastic) prepared already......took off the scope, put 4 pieces of plastic under the scope and re-tightened the scope mount screws.  Now the gun is shooting high...woohoo....so all I needed was to click the elevation knob down.  Btw....don't have steady hands....so even with the airgun on a camera tripod....I still had 3" patterns heh heh.....but at least the pellets were able to touch the paper!!!!

i like the idea of the film negitive to shim or a small piece of alluminum to shim.funny thing is after i bought the new mount and rings i was able to hit closer to the bulls eye but i have not fine tuned it yet. i want to sell the gun it's to heavy for me because of my bum arm. great advice and your experience is appriciated.thanks...

I see you have a RWS 52...and yes they're heavy. The RWS 54, 52, 48, 350 and 460 Magnums are too heavy for my taste.....especially if you add on a scope.
