Question about GAMO VIPER STOCK ..........
« on: July 08, 2009, 09:26:07 AM »
Hey fellow Shooters, I am a newbie here. However I have owned many Airguns in My time. I am really into military firearms, but Me and My ten year old son have been getting more and more into airguns. My question is, Can I install a wood (hunter series) Gamo stock on My Viper rifle without modifications? I love the beech stocks Gamo has and they are only $35.00 at GAMO USA. I figured someone here has tryed it . Please send Me any good tune-up or repair info Ya can to My message box. I can do bout any gunsmithing  to a real firearm but k no w little about the action of a pellet gun. I already have the GRT-3 trigger and enjoyed installing it. I would love to get a little more in depth and smooth up the recoil on this gun. I am considering buying another airgun, the Hunter Extreme by Gamo but have read some negative things on such a high priced Gamo. Well thanks for any help in advance. Jason & Kyle(My son)

The 440 stock will work fine, I have one (not installed after having owned it for over 2 months) that I fitted to a Viper action.  Just remove the spacer from the roller linkage so it doesn't bind.  Blue Loctite the 3 screws holding the action in place and you'll have a nice looking rifle.  I also like the wood stocks Gamo sells.  Very low cost and gives the rifle a much nicer appearance.
