CFX / Kral breach mod
« on: July 27, 2009, 01:18:44 PM »
I finaly got ssick of the breach leak in my .177 kral...
So it was time to sort it....

The first thing was to toss the silly little O-ring that seals the tube to
the breach in the bin..Then cut a bigger O-ring grove to take a 2.5mm
section O-ring...standard one was a 21mm od x 1.5mm section..
Replaced with a 21mm od x 2.5mm section....SORTED

Next was the front O-ring that seals the breach to the barrel..
That one was a real joke....That one followed the first into the bin..
sorted that buy boreing 10mm hole 8mm deep down though the
transfer port..8mm is as deep as you can go or the hole will enter
the slot the the small handle fits in.... Then placed o peice of rubber
tube in 9mm long....SORTED

Have fired it with soapy water over the breach...No sign of a leak...

This is great!!! Right up my alley...something I've been thinking of doing, but havent yet (on my CFXs). Seems like the beefier seals would really seal up good. I hope you figure out how to stop that leak and let us all know how its done.

Hey, Pete, any possibility you nicked that beefier oring on it's way back down the compression tube?  I know from recent experience just how easy that is to do, even on a gun that's been thoroughly deburred.  Good luck sorting it out.

I'm looking into a lip seal to replace the O-ring...

If I did nick the  o-ring....I would have thought it
would have leacked right from the start...but
who knows...see when I get it apart again....
