Stock replacment
« on: July 25, 2009, 06:47:50 PM »
Just wondering what do yers think the chances are
of adapting a  plastic pistol grip stock onto a air gun..
not sure if it would be a brake barrel or underlever
what ever one is the best fit I surpose...

there are quite a few diffrent designs in aftermarket stocks
rangeing from cheap to silly prises...

The more I shoot my Remington Genesis the more I like
the pistol grip design..

You ain't gonna know until you try.   Good Luck.  Keep us posted if it  works.  And how many steps to make it work.

Those look llike the  replacement stocks sold for SKS rifles and 10/22 rugers.  Are they?

I've been toying with the same idea.  What action were you thinking of using?

BTW - someone did this about a year ago with a similar stock and an HW34 if I recall correctly.  The work was approached in an innovative way - I think he heated the action and melted it into the stock!  Plastic oozed out and he trimmed it back.  Seemed like his priority was expediency rather than craftsmanship - but it DID work.  Based on how I recall his experiment, using more conventional inletting methods would be the way to go.

Ahh!  Great Idea - I didin't think like that.  I was thinking to put a Fast Deer in one because I thought the sidelever would be a good choice.  I like the idea of leaving the possibilities open.  Let us know if you try it and I'll do the same.
