Crosman 357 barrel
« on: September 20, 2009, 02:22:35 AM »
Hello: Every one
I am new to this forum and hope to take in a lot of knowledge.
At the moment I am interested in mod's I can make to my Crosman 357.
My thought for the first mod would be to remove the 6" barrel and mod an 8" barrel to fit.
I also have a crosman SA6 from the 50s and was thinking the 6" riffled barrel from the 357 would be close to fitting.
To cover the protruding barrel would be a snazzy flash suppressor.
My question is, can any one point me in the direction of were I can get an 8" barrel  (part # 357-203 or 357a203) have seen it both ways.
Thank you
Mike

I was able to order an 8" barrel form Crosman. 357 b 203
Put the barrel in the drill press and cut down the shoulder with a file.
I have pictures but don't know how to load them on to this page.

I know they used to sell the whole gun in a kit that had both a 8 inch and 4 inch barrel that you could easily switch between. They now sell a newer version that comes with only a 6 inch barrel. I've only got the version with the 6 inch barrel. I'm not sure where you can order it from, but I do know the old kit allowed you to change the barrels by removing the barrel at the pivot screw. If they still sell the 8 inch barrel separately, it should be a real easy switch. You may even want to keep the old barrel handy if things don't work out with the SA6. Good luck bud,

Randy

You are right about the kit that has the 4" and 8" barrel but it was discontinued.
I probably should have ordered the barrel and housing . This was fun to do.
Now I need to make a suppressor to cover the extra 2 inches.
Do you know how to post pictures on this sight?
Thanks.

I still haven't figured out how to post pics...I usually just post links. Maybe someone else can chime in here.

hey that sa6 is a sweet looking pellet gun!!  At the bottom of the new thread text window you'll see a box to click that says' "attach a file after posting" - click it and post.  You'll need to have it the right size.  If you need to, go to the Library (at the top) and you'll see 2 links about picture sizing and editing.
