I gotta tell you, i own a home tuned 78 in .22 and a home tuned 79 in .177, and as a hunter they do behave differently. the 79 loves crow mags and will drop a squirre at 45 yard while holding the cross hairs on it's fusebox... and it will make little ragged holes at 30 yards... The 78, it shoots at 540 fps and has done a rabbit at 40 yards, but even with head shot (the pellet was lobed at it... i saw it's entire flight...) it required a back up shot. since then it has being relegated to no more than 25 yards. at that range is absolutely deadly on squirrels and rabbits. One shot is al it takes. Do not dismiss the qb79 in .177... i would not have mine in any other caliber...
