I May have got Lucky.
« on: December 07, 2009, 01:46:20 AM »
One of my sons came over last night with a Gamo that he had bought.  It is a small Recon , or something like that, if I remember correctly.  I don't know why he did not spring for a BC, but I did not critize his choice because I know that he is now hooked on AGs and doesn't realize it.   Anyway we checked it out.  I gave him a rundown of what to do and not do with a springer AG.  All stuff that I picked up from you guys.  And even gave him some other types of pellets to try.   He said he just wants to shoot paper at about 30ft max.  And asked if I thought it had enough power for squirrels.  Since it is listed at about 525fps.  I suggested that he just shoot the paper and cans etc.

Anyway, we got to talking about PCP air guns and I stated that I would mostly have one except that I really wanted to use it with a SCUBA tank for fills.   My son said his friend has a SCUBA tank that is less than a year old and believed he can get it for little$$$   or free.  I asked if it was a full size tank like the type you would use for diving and he said yes.

If this tank shows up on my doorstep, a PCP will be in my future.   My fingers are crossed.

It is a GAMO Delta.

Don't those Recons require about a hefty 60# to cock??? ... BTW - good luck with that tank.

Actually John, it turns out to be a Gamo Delta.  Just something to shoot paper primarily.  And have some fun.   Effort to cock is about 21 lbs.  Pellet speed is listed as 525fps.

And I hope I get the tank also.  If nothing else to sell.   What would be a fair price anyway?
