air hawk review
« on: December 28, 2009, 10:27:32 AM »
For those who dont know the air hawk line is made in china and has the ruger name now im going to do a quick review on the ruger air hawk i purchase one of these from cabelas when they sold them for 69 big ones, out of the box it wasnt wrapped the way i liked it but no damage .The wood was in good shape and so was the blueing on the barrel not bad not bad,now i didnt care for the r stamped on the breech and stock but oh well the gun still looked good. Now on to the good stuff i bagged it up with some gamo hunters and 2 cans of gamo rockets wrapped it up and on x mas day my buddy was in awe he said thanks man for a wonderful gift now we have to( put this to the test!)Xmas morning he got out the gamo big cat and i had the airhawk we put up some targets(soda and beer cans lol)at approx 50yrds.Now i didnt mount the scope on the airhawk cause it had front and rear fiber optic sites the big cat was fully scoped with a leapers mini 4x32 scope i gave him for his birthday well the airhawk surprised me cause out of 15 shots no scope i hit my target 11 times at 50 yrds im like wow!! so my buddy gave it a try and out of 6 shots he missed once open sites no scope 50 yrds budwiser can so we up the range a sec to 65 yrds using gamo rockets shooting a old corona bottle missed the first shot but nailed the sec open sites no scope my buddy was pleased now there is a lamp post about 90 yrds and he wanted to see if he can hit the metal cause with the big cat he had no luck.So at 4 shots no luck  so we mounted the scope sited it in with some crosman ultra mags 10.9 grains and he shot lol ding !!! he shot again  lol ding!! lol that made my buddies day and his x mas.Well that is my review on the airhawk i couldnt belive it but it was true no lie this gun has range and power.Im glad i have the blackhawk
