Stock Screws for an Air Hawk
« on: February 21, 2010, 12:49:12 PM »
My Air Hawk continues to bedevil me.  It is by far my worst air rifle despite the Mike Melick repair and tune.  It started losing what little accuracy it had and I found despite the locktite the stock screws were coming out.

Well long story short, I stripped one of the ones on the side.  Can you buy screws that will fit at Home Depot, Lowes etc?  If so does anyone know the size, length, etc?  I'd like to replace the other one (near the trigger guard) as well since it is pretty buggered up.

I'm starting to hate this gun.  For what I have in it I could have had a "REAL" 34!  If a real 34 is as good as my 350, I really missed out :(

I replaced both my Hawk and Panther with Allen heads I picked up at ACE hardware. They are metric, I believe M6. Just take one of each with you. I did have to shorten the rear one about 1/4 inch.

Thanks guys.  I ended up replacing the screws on the side of the stock with hex bolts.  They tightened down a bit better too.  I couldn't find the right size for the other one.

I have the locktite setting on it and I'm not touching it until tomorrow again.  Then I may just throw it over the fence if it is still bad.
