My Saturday Morning Hunt
« on: February 28, 2010, 08:33:09 AM »
This was a video I did of my Saturday morning hunt.  I was using the Gun Camera mounted on my Whisper for the shots.  Though an enjoyable time, no animals were harmed or even shot at during the making of this video

It was some COLD air to breath!  I didn't realize how cold it was until I heard my own voice after the fact.  I was also walking up and down some seriously steep hills.  In my younger days that wouldn't have been that big a deal, but as I fast close in on fifty I feel those hills a lot more than in the past.

One time I had to throw up my pack and then push up one gun at a time to get up the slope.  I'm a big time chicken when it comes to heights so I stayed about 10 feet back from the edge of that bluff.

Normally I fish at the bottom of it.  Caught LOTS of nice bluegill and white bass there last year.  I'm sure there are catfish there as well, but I have a for certain spot for them.

When I got home there were two squirrels in the front yard and two in the back!  Tomorrow they will be safe....unless they get in the bird feeders!

Nice video Randy!  That's some beautiful country and hunting grounds you have there.  Is that all public land?

It seems you still have tons of squirrels around your house.  No need to go anywhere :)  Just take it slow when you are out there climbing.  The cold doesn't help either nor carrying a heavy rifle w/camera the whole time..  We are not 25 any more! :(

It isn't public land.  It is a luxury subdivision that has no houses in it currently.  My hope is that they don't build any this year so I can deer hunt there with my bow in the fall :)  I think there is some public land further down the river, but I'll have to access them by boat in the fall.  That has potential since if the hunting is bad, I can FISH!
