Theoben Rapid?
« on: February 26, 2010, 11:54:20 PM »
In looking more at various forums I see one in particular that keeps saying 'The Theoben Rapid is Gods personal gift to air gunners'.

Are they really that good?

This forum is in love with the Marauder with a few individuals liking one or another particular rifle better.

If money isn't a concern is the Theoben Rapid really the top of the heap in a usable plinking, target & field rifle?

We are in love with any airgun that shoots lead...:) I do not own a Theoben Rapid yet but as the reviews and word of mouth goes they are as you said..:) I think that most of their lineup of air guns are great shooters right out of the box. I wish more people could afford them so we could all hear more about them on the GTA. They are very expensive but justified.

Gene,
The quality I read about sounds great. the Rapid S with 600+ shots on one fill sounds even better. The price I could justify if all really is as advertised and they are 'that good'. Fine quality is worth the price you pay for it.

I dont own a Rapid (becuase I spend too much on medical, and that is the only reason).  I shoot at the GOB with David Slade and have had the enjoyable experience of shooting most all the moderen Rapid airguns, yes out of the box they are all that. Now on that 600 shots you do realize that has to be the 12fpe Euro max right? Fit, finish, trigger, ease of working on, groups, yup all that and more. Get an MFR and dont look back.

for the money, if you are looking at a .22, it is a better option.  Quieter, shorter, much lighter, same or better accuracy, same or better shot count, same quality, and lastly more power.
If you are looking at .25 go with a Rapid or Daystate AirRanger.
