HOW MANY SHOOT

CO2 powered airguns?

Rifles, pistols, or both?

What do you like about co2 powered airguns?

Do you shoot paper, plink, hunt, or what with your co2 guns?

I shoot CO2  rifles...QB78/79, RWS 850. Reasons for shooting Co2

accurate (little recoil)
easy followup shots (no cocking)
easy mods to boost FPE

I use them mainly for hunting.

I also live in a warm weather state, so I can shoot Co2 all year long.

I have a Crosman 2240 CO2 pistol and a Crosman pumper home-brewed into a CO2 rifle. Today seems like a good day to take out the gassers!

Here's my current gasser line up-

  Pistols:
Crosman MK I (.22 pellet)- 37 years old and still shooting great!
Crosman 1088 (.177 and BB's) - just purchased this week. Plan on purging the garage mice with this one.
Daisy Powerline 44 mag (.177 pellet) - Dirty Harry lookalike (waiting for shipment of new clips). Picked this one up sometime in the mid 80's.
Daisy Powerline 92 (.177 pellet) - Baretta lookalike. Purchased in the mid 70's. Feeding mechanism is jammed - this is my next project.
Daisy Powerline 93A (BB) - Purchase last year.
Daisy 15XT (BB) - Purchased last year.

  Rifles:
RWS 850 Magnum (.177) - WOW! Just got this week from AirGun Depot. This thing is awesome! Will post pics later in a separate thread.
Crosman Nightstalker (.177) - this little repeater is a hoot to shoot. It has its problems but nothing that can't be fixed. Accurate shooter.
Drozd (BB) - Russian made (Baikal). With full-auto mod installed. Clip fed - 30 shots. One quick buzz at 1200rpm. Need I say more.
Drozd Blackbird (BB) - this one has 400 bb reservoir with electric motor feed. I installed the full auto mod and extended barrel. Videos are worth 1,000,000 words?

I have 2 Mike Melick tuned QB-78 D's and I really enjoy shooting them.  They are so much fun and so darn accurate.  I also set up my .22 cal Air Force Talon for C02 during the summer months and have a blast picking off starlings with it at the duck farm.    It was 70 degrees here today and I was thinking of breaking out the C02 guns and doing some plinking, but I was so busy with the yard work that I never got around to it...

CO2 pistols.  Mostly use CO2 for plinking, target.  Just started playing with Crosman 2240s and all the different mods you can  do.  I also enjoy the CO2 Colt for indoor fun.

My co2 air pistols are:
- Walther CPM-1 match target AP
- Umarex Walther CP99, my "fun" gun, this was before I got the PPK
- Umarex Walther PPK, my other "fun" gun, for true semi auto + blowback, only downside is it shoot BBs rather than pellets.

My co2 air rifles is
- TAU200-Jr, match target rifle

co2 is nice because it does not require the effort to cock a power spring.
The match AP and AR use bulk fill CO2, the CP99 and PPK use 12g cartridges

I use rifles and pistols. CO2 in pistols and CO2 and springers in rifles. I don't hunt with pistols but I do hunt  piigeons, squirrels, starlings and crows with all the others. Have an R52 in .22 coming that I will try on groundhogs this summer. Not much on targets except to sight in but I have the resettable squirrel and a set of IHMSA silhouettes.I go to the range to plink.Lots of shotshells, brass and pieces of clays. For plinking I like CO2 or an easy cocker like the Big Cat.At 75 guns like the R34 tire me out pretty quick.

I have a Crossman 2260 CO2 rifle. It is my favorite back yard plinker. I love the simplicity of it -- no cocking or pumping, just load and shoot. This gun is not hold sensitive like a spring gun either. Hold it & shoot it any way you want. I also like its accuracy. With RWS Superdomes 20 yard groups are almost always one ragged hole. Have killed a number of starlings and grackles with it out to 37 yards. I can honestly say that I have never shot a bird with it that flew away. I think its because the big slow-moving .22 pellet does not exit the bird, thus all of its energy is transferred to the target.
