The Hunter - Free Game
« on: March 26, 2010, 12:40:15 PM »

A little while ago some one posted a link to this game, "The Hunter." I'd just like to say thanks for costing me a good night's sleep last night.

I installed it quick last week but didn't get much chance to play it - never saw a single animal - except butterflies. Last night I was determine to get a kill.

Three hours later (around 1AM) I'm still hiking around looking for animals. You're dropped on a couple of wooded and hilly islands with stands scattered about. There are trails to follow through the woods but you can walk anywhere you want. The graphics are really stunning so I was happy just to explore this world - it was quite addictive. Just as I was about to give up I started seeing deer tracks. I fumbled around some more until I heard a distant call. My heart starting pounding so I squatted next to a bush. I could hear steps behind me then a doe walked right by. I took a shot and she went down. It really wasn't much, but after all that work it was satisfying.

I probably should have read more of the hints and tips and maybe I would have seen a deer sooner. For a free game this is one sweet deal. Now if only I could see a real animal when I'm out there with my Gamo. :(

Glad you posted the link for the game Jim. I sometime feel the need to kill something...:) But I am firm believer in no killing cridders unless I am gonna eat them..:) But I do not eat paper targets...:)  Will give the game a try some day. Thanks
