Newbie Big Cat 1200 Question

Hey guys,
I've been snooping around this site for the last few weeks.  What a great site.  I got more answers to my pellet rifle questions in one day here, than I did in a month from company websites and big box stores.  I just picked up a Big Cat 1200 at Cabelas for $98.99.  It was a great price so I figured that I would be stuck with a "plastic" trigger.  I wasn't too concerned since I am unlikely to want to upgrade it (that's what I said about my Mustang six months before I put a supercharger on it).  I just want it to eliminate backyard pests.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is a "metal" trigger.  My only disappointment so far is that there were no instructions included other than included with the scope, and a small sheet warning against modifications.  I wasn't expecting much, but I was expecting at least some safety instructions.  Was there supposed to be a booklet?  Is there anything better than the booklet available on the website?  Thanks in advance for your help.  Just as a sidenote, the last time I purchased a firearm was in 1962 when I went into Sears-Roebuck with $12.99 of my allowance and purchased a JC Higgins single shot .22 rimfire rifle (still got it)!

Bruce,   welcome to the GTA.    As far as instructions for the Gamo,  I have never really seen anything except to show how to load a pellet and a warning not to use BBs.   As far as safety goes..... you cannot be to safe with anything that launches any type of projectile.    Don't let a modern airgun fool you.  They are more powerful than most users realize.

You can learn more stuff about your Gamo on this forum than anything supplied by the manufacture.    Check out the Library and Review sections for info for a start.

Keep posting and asking questions.

Thanks for the info guys.  I noticed on the barrel of the big cat that it says to see the manual that is available from Gamo.  You would think that anything that can be as dangerous as a pellet rifle would have a manual packed with it, containing all kinds of safety warnings.  Even the bike rack I bought recently had seven pages of the manual devoted to safety issues involving what you should't do with it.  

Thanks to you guys at GTA, I was able to clean out the bore and mount the scope.  Tomorrow I'll start to aim the scope.

Bruce, welcome to the GTA forum and family.  They (Crosman and Gamo and others I assume) do have a 3 or 4 page manual that should come with the airgun.  Maybe yours fell out or they forgot or something.
