I have been shooting mostly RWS’s since I started the airgun addiction in 2000. I have also owned few Gamo’s and other rifles but nothing in the caliber of the German made Beeman R-9. Only the last two months when I started acquiring these fine rifles and boy the difference is huge! The R-9 cocking is smooth, the report is not as loud, the weight is just right, and the accuracy is superb.
I am by no mean a good shooter, but look at shooting results at the target shown below placed at 26 yards. You are not looking at the results from only one R-9 or two, but the three calibers; 0.177, 0.20, and 0.22. As you can I see I have three pellets out of the target center and I know two of them were my fault, I moved right before I took the shot. Actually, some of the pellets went through the center hole in the target right into the trap.
None of these rifles has broken-in yet, if fact I have put less than 30 pellets through each. I must say the stock was rested on a sand bag and I was shooting from a sitting position but still this is the best I have done in more than 10 years. Pellets I’m using are: RWS hollow point 14.2 gr through the 0.22 R-9, JSB exact 13.5 gr and Beeman Field Target 11.45 gr through the 0.20 R-9, and finally Crow Magnum 8.8 gr through the 0.177 R-9.
