WFH Grackle and Starling
« on: April 20, 2010, 10:27:06 AM »
Today while I was tearing down a old metal shed in the back yard I was keeping the Walther Falcon Hunter handy in case of snakes or rats. First the Starling that has been evading me over the last couple of weeks gave me the opening I needed. 10yds away on the eve of my roof. It watched me as I walked over to the rifle and then was moving away slowly like he couldn't make up its mind. I made it up for him. At first I thought it got away in spite of the puff of feathers. I found him in the dirt around the corner.
I took 1 drake and 2 hen grackles in a pecan tree about 40yds away. I don't have range finder so it is a best guess via the parallax.
I was using PolyMag Predators in .22
I don't know what was different today, usually when I go outside with my WFH it is like they all go into hiding.

You were working. Even though you had the rifle out, they didn't think you would actually stop and shoot. Great job.

Very good...4 birds with the WFH.  That powerful air rifle put the lights out in them real fast.
