Diana 350 Vortek Kit
« on: April 29, 2010, 04:18:38 PM »
Received and installed a Vortek kit for my 350 today. The installation went very smoothly, not a problem at all. The initial cocking was a bit heavy. Toward the end of the cocking cycle it really got hard. I let off just in case there was something wrong. I eased into it several times until finally it was latched. It shot with a thud and most of the torque was gone. No twang but then I never had a twang stock. It shoots hard with mostly a forward backward motion, 90% of the torque twist is gone which is what I was looking for. Now when I shoot I am still somewhat on the target where before I was not. In a few days I will chrony it and give an update. It seems to be shooting just as hard as before. When I shoot off a rest with not much hold it will twist clockwise. If I have a light hold the twist is not noticed. It will be nice and I will like it fine....Frank

I had one installed in my RWS 350 in .22 cal.  I chronied my gun with 14.3 grain pellets at ~800 fps with a Maccari replacement seal.

Raining today so good day to Chrony.
I used six each of eight different pellets. My average reading taken in February was 824. Today after Vortek install and several hundred pellets the average was 812. The high being 855 RWS HP 14.2 and low 743 JSB Exact 18.1.
So in the same ballpark but a bit smoother. Still know your shooting a magnum but without as much torque twist.

I was just researching these kits for my 350 and it seems every body else has a 22 cal 350. Has any one stuck one in a 177 350 and if so do you have somekind of numbers I could expect. Right now I am averaging 920's with 10.2 gr JSB. I figure with the vortek kit I should be in the same ball park but smoother.
