Barnett Spitfire
« on: April 25, 2010, 11:42:52 AM »

This is a .177 side lever Barnett Spitfire, the same as the Webley Tracker which was imported in the 80's. It is in pretty good condition EXCEPT it has a cracked stock which someone (a youngun) repaired with a wood screw. Actually, it would have been better from the inside but still it's not too bad if you just glued her and plugged the hole. Crack is stable. Gun shoots well and the trigger isn't too bad, either, as can be the case on some Webleys from this period. There is some pitting here and there, not bad, and some grub screw marks behind the brake. Barnett had Webley put on a weird front sight there and used a crossbow sight for the rear. It's no wonder they were removed. Here's your chance to get a fairly collectible little piece for cheap, especially if you're good with repairs. $125, shipped CONUS who and where legal.

First "I'll Take It" followed by a PM. No tire kickers, pulleze! :D

Sorry about the doubled picture. Can't seem to edit it out.

This is a tap loader. No pinched/crushed fingers and much easier to cock than a 48. I'll keep it here a bit longer, then it goes on the Yellow.
