DIY Vortek kit
« on: June 05, 2010, 02:54:59 PM »
Hey all, I just installed the DIY Vortek Pro guide2 spring kit in my RWS 48. Can you say awesome! The gun sounds different, feels different. The twang is gone, along with most of the vibration. This was a pretty straight forward install. I need more time shooting it, but I did manage to get a hundred shots or so off between rain drops today. My groups did tighten up a little. I'm still a newbie at this springer deal but having a blast. More later. Jim
Oh No Dear, I\'ve had that for a while now!

I'm a power hungry old man. That said, can you say if your 48 has more, less or the same power with the Vortek kit in it? Have fun shooting. The Diana 48 is a quality Air Gun.

I've been very satisfied with the PG2 in my RWS 34.  Really made that gun extra pleasant to shoot.  Like you I'm fairly new to air guns and found the install to be very simple.  For $75 it's got to be one of the better investments I've made in quite some time.

For all that the PG2 kit offers, I don't understand those who say it will have to prove itself over time.  I understand that concept but don't see how anything in the kit could really fail over time.  Sure, springs eventually become worn but that is not the fault of any maker.  If you've considered the PG2 for your rifle I'd strongly suggest checking it out.k

Larry, I'd say its about the same power?maybe a tick more. But it just feels way better when you pull the trigger. Gary, I think it was here in about four days. Didn't take long. If you have any issues with you install PM me and I'll try and give you some pointers that I learned while installing mine. Jim
