I don,t have a airgun shop, but i do have a shed were i wood carve, lol. I used walnut ,because it is hard and holds detail. I plan on doing my B-26 soon, after i plan it out. This is my first gun grips,i  carve walking sticks, when i have time,so thought it would be nice to try on my new passion.

Paul, that is some fine carving. Can't wait to see your B-26, are you going to make another stock, or just carve some designs on that one.

That wood, "Chinese Mystery Wood" is a native Chinese wood.  I forget what it's called, something like "quibui" or whatever, irregardless it is a bit on the soft side, very straight grained, has little character...similar to Beech...., but different.  Best bet is to strip by sanding, then stain and do a tru-oil seal...or just paint or bedliner it.  Some people have managed to do some pretty decent finishing jobs on it, and if you're lucky there wont be much wood filler.

Good luck,

Nice grip's for sure Paul, we have some talented memer's on our forum. I have 2240 that another really talented member, Mike aka (Bullseye) made for me. He does some great thing's with wood and also we have Gene with his (AirGunToys for Boy's) spinning some fantastic accessories for our babies, that's one of his fine brakes on my 2240. I've gone through the trigger area, polish, lighter spring, spring guide and made a trigger shoe for her.

That is some beautiful work, Paul.  I agree with Bill, we need some better pix!  I have a B20 on the way, if it checks out, I may get a B26-2 stock for it.  Think you'd be interested in a carving job?  Later.
