Boy those colored forums sure do have a lot of hate. LOL
« on: June 28, 2007, 12:09:26 PM »
I just don't see why people want to fight over a particular gun. It's just a matter of opinion. Some people have good luck with the chinese guns some don't. If you go onto a chinese forum and ask a question about a chinese gun you should expect a certian amount bias. Then someone who I've read post from that seems quit educated jumps in with( I'll shorten it ) German guns are better than Chinese guns because they are German. A poster was wanting an opinion on a RWS34 vs a B40. Just let it go. Another prime example of why I love it here soooooo much. I feel like I can post here and not get blasted no matter how stupid my post may be. :p

You hit the nail right on the head Jason.   This certainly is a great place to be :)  !!!

Nice friendly people who are always willing to help out a fellow GTA member and no bickering.   Doesn't get any better......

I never got to much into the make of a airgun to much, ok just alittle but if it's got some hope on being a good shooter with some TLC I'll take it. I've got a $20.00 B3 up to a $200.00+ airgun's, not including the extra's. I've taken my share of game with all of them and all of them are great shooter's. I let the other's fuss over make and type, I just take my $20.00 shooter and go hunting. :) Adapting to your gun's need's is a plus. Heck, if it was a blow gun with a nice trigger and sight on it I would probably have it hehe. Ed

Just kinda needed to ease up space taken up by 'deals' on dianas. Reallyshould thinthose too,but haven't figured outthe ones I'd be ok with letting go of . . .
Closest guess without actually looking is a 34, 38, 4x52, p5, 6m, and 2 hyscore, an 815 & 816. So since not real sure where to keep all the chinese toys, they kinda went here and there over the past couple of years.
I don't suppose I really miss them verymuch but keep thinking a couple cases of tricked out chinese toys would be cool for a 'Busch race' type of target shoot like the paintball scenario at the recentSC GTA shoot.

I agree, that's why I hang out and post here. I don't care where a gun was made, just how well it works for me. I have 3 German guns, 2 Spanish, 4 Chinese and 1 American gun. They all have their charms.

If I want to chat about my hobby, I want to do it in a forum where I can do it objectively, comment on what works or doesn't work for me. I try to remember that just because a gun or accessory worked or didn't work for me doesn't mean everyone else will have the same experience with it.

I also appreciate being able to share information with other enthusiasts that share my passion for the sport. I know I'll get lots of good advice and feedback here, and I hope I can occasionally return the favor.

I despise elitist crap from anyone and don't want to hang out with a bunch of them.

Very well put Stephanie...:) If I like a particular air gun, I buy it and shoot it. It really is fun having a variety of air guns and as far as one being better than another, that is based on personal opinion. I shoot all my guns all the time. Each air rifle has its own unique use for me.. Most of my air guns are less than $300.00 but I feel that each and every one of them do a certain kind of shooting..:) I like that, and I would not hesitate to buy a $3,000 air rifle if I could afford it either. We have an outstanding membership here on the GTA and the last thing I would hate to see is someone arguing over guns.. lol  It is a great sport and we all learn something every day here... and I am no stranger to learning... This old dog still has some brain cells left.. hehe
The GTA has a friendly atmosphere and offers a fantastic experience for all of us and especially the new air gunner who wants to ask a question with out being ridiculed etc.

I had a look at the thread you mentioned and it was actually milder than some of the others I have seen there.  As a newbi to airguns I am much more comfortable posting here as well.  You see the same stuff in any venture that involves hobbiests though.  The fact that you can get a $20 B3 to shoot near or perhaps as accurate as a $400+ Euro rifle at 30 yards is like comparing a Ferrari to a Toyota for city commuting.    Here the sysops make it comfortable to ask the simple questions.  I'm still amazed with the amount of real info the pros share with the community.  Reading between the lines on the feuds that have developed its pretty clear who the gentlemen are.  It's a shame the egos of just a few are so needy that they coloured an entire forum.

Cheers
Mark

Very true it was mild compaired to some of the post I've read as well.  God forbid you post something one of the eliest thinks is stupid all their buddies will be on you like stink on s*"t. You can tell who they are because it's the same ones everytime. I've shot airguns for about 20 years but I don't have any mechanical knowledge of the other than what I.ve read.

I've started trying to gain some knowledge by buying a couple B1's and a TF-34 and tearing them apart. Never to old to learn.

Hey All,

I like the excitement over at the Old Yellow, it keeps the Moderators Busy, and gets the old adrenaline pumping ! hehe...he

Beside, everyone over there, and over here, knows who these "elitists" are, and laughs at them. There the only ones that can't see how childish they look.

But all in all, I like our membership much better. Not only are they very helpful, but they take the time to explain there answers, until the answer is understood by the member with the question.

We are lucky to have the most intelligent and helpful members on the web !

And that is why, This is such a GREAT PLACE TO BE !!!!

That ain't the only kind of hate you get there, unfortunately. Inspite of what they say, I love it here and love the people too. I'll probably get banned as I responded about " beating this dead horse forever. Move on. Blow your own horn and forget the past". Life's too short.
